1- Objective:To calculate the spring constant (k).
2- Apparatus:Spring masses ruler.
3- Equation:Fs = -kWhere:Fs = Spring force (N).k = Spring costant (N/m). = Displacement (m).
4- Procedure:1- Take the reading of the end of the spring when m = 0.2- Add a mass and write the data, then convert the unit to (kg).3- Calculate the (Fs) by multiply it with the acceleration of gravity (g).4- Take the reading of the new position of x, write it and calculate the displacement.5- Add another mass and repeat that steps.
5- Data:

Calculation and result :1st mass = 50 g = 0.05 kg 2nd mass = 100 g = 0.10 kg 3rd mass = 150 g = 0.15 kg 4th mass = 200 g = 0.20 kg 5th mass = 250 g = 0.25 kg
1st = 12.9 12.9 = 0 cm2nd = 15 12.9 = 2.1 cm3rd = 17 12.9 = 4.1 cm4th = 19.1 12.9 = 6.2 cm5th = 21.1 12.9 = 8.2 cm6th = 23.1 12.9 = 10.2 cm
