Honoree | Derek Hough Dancer, Choreographer, Actor

Emmy Award winning and New York Times Best-Selling author Derek Hough, the only six time champion in franchise history of the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars, started dancing in his hometown of Salt Lake City, UT, at age 11. Just one year later, he moved to London to live and train with the top dance coaches in the world and attend the prestigious Italia Conti performing arts school where he studied theatre, music and dance. A multi-talented entertainer, two-time Emmy Award winner and 9-time nominee for Outstanding Choreogra-phy, Hough has also appeared in film, television and stage projects as an actor. He made his feature film debut for director Duane Adler and producer Robert Cort in the feature film Make Your Move and has a recurring role on the ABC series Nashville. His stage performances include Radio City Music Hall’s Spring Spectacular costarring alongside the Tony Award winning Laura Benanti and the critically acclaimed production of Footloose which he starred as the male lead in London’s West End. In December of 2016, Hough starred with Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Martin Short and Harvey Fierstein in NBC’s Hairspray Live! His memoir Taking the Lead; Lessons from a Life in Motion hit stands in August of 2014 and rapidly was named to the prestigious New York Times Best-Seller list during two non-consecutive time periods. In 2014 Hough and his sister Julianne teamed for a live stage dance concert MOVE Live on Tour performing in 50 cities around the country, in 2015 they toured again selling out scores of venues on their 47 city outing. In 2017 they again went on a sold out tour of 48 cities around the United States with their show Move – Beyond – Live on Tour. With celebrity partners on Dancing with the Stars that have included Brooke Burke,Jennie Garth, Ricki Lake, Maria Menounos Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Grey, Kellie Pickler, Amber Riley, Amy Purdy and Bindi Irwin, Hough is best known for his innovation and daring choreography on the show. Honoree | Adam Shankman Producer, Choreographer, Director

Adam Shankman has made a name for himself as one of the most diverse and sought-after filmmakers in Hollywood, who for nearly three decades has enjoyed success as a director, producer, choreographer and author. Under the Offspring feature film banner, Shankman produced “Rock of Ages,” the entire “Step Up” series of films, “17 Again” starring Zac Efron, “The Last Song” starring Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus, and “Going the Distance,” starring Drew Barrymore, Jason Sudeikis and Christina Applegate. Offspring is also a producing partner in YouTube Red’s new series, “Step Up: High Water.” On the small screen, Shankman served as a guest judge on the Emmy Award-winning reality show, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for eight seasons, and in 2009, he served as co-producer and lead cho-reographer of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards and the Carrie Underwood All-Star Holiday Special. The 82nd Oscar telecast earned a record 12 Emmy nominations, including two nominations for Mr. Shankman, for Producing and Choreography. In July 2007, Shankman directed, choreographed and executive produced “Hairspray,” the feature film adaptation of the Tony® Award–winning Broadway musical. It received three Golden Globe® nominations including, Best Picture—Musical or Comedy. In addition, the film’s cast won a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Acting Ensemble. He also choreographed music videos for Whitney Houston, the B-52s, Barry White, Aaron Neville, Chic and Stevie Wonder. Following high school, Shankman moved from Los Angeles to New York and briefly attended Juilliard. After five years as an actor and dancer in New York, he returned to Los Angeles and performed in music videos for legendary artists Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson. He also performed as an ensemble dancer at the 1989 Academy Awards. In addition to his career in entertainment, Shankman is equally dedicated to charity work. He serves on the board of the Trevor Project and co-founded The Dizzy Feet Foundation, with dance philanthropist, Nigel Lythgoe. Shankman is also an author, having penned two Young Adult novels, GIRL ABOUT TOWN and MURDER AMONG THE STARS, co-written with Laura Lee Sullivan, for Simon and Schuster’s arm, Atheneum Books for Young Readers.

Mark L. Walberg has hosted Antiques Roadshow since 2005. A fan favorite, Walberg admits to also being a long-time Antiques Roadshow fan who watches with his family. “With my 20-year career in game and quiz shows,” he said, “I know Antiques Roadshow has a winning formula: the excitement and challenge of finding out how much something is worth gets viewers to tune in, and along the way they get hooked by all the incredible history.”

During his television career, Walberg has hosted and been featured in an array of popular talk, reality competi-tion, and game shows, including the nationally syndicated The Mark Walberg Show and the FOX hit The Mo-ment of Truth.

He has hosted home improvement competitions, knowledge quiz shows, a relationship challenge show, the Cali-fornia state lottery program, and won The Weakest Link as a contestant playing for charity. Walberg also created and produced Sunday Dinner with friend and television personality Mark DeCarlo.
