MYFACE MISSION:

By creating the beloved character Auggie, in the New York

Times #1 Bestseller Book Wonder, RJ Palacio has placed a spotlight on the issues faced by the

craniofacial community and has thereby opened a global dialogue on empathy. For these amazing contributions, we are bestowing upon her the

inaugural Ramey-Ross Award.

myFace witnessed firsthand the myriad of ways in which Wonder has resonated with myFace patients and families,

the craniofacial community and the populace at large. Recognizing the importance of empathy education, myFace has launched the Wonder Educational Project

by creating a curriculum based upon the novel. Through the power of education, myFace seeks

to further transform the lives of those living with a craniofacial difference.

Founded in 1951 to care for WWII veterans with craniofacial wounds, myFace has evolved to support pediatric and adult patients and their families with craniofacial conditions. myFace transforms patients’ lives by providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary medical, surgical, dental and psychosocial care, regardless of the severity of the anomaly, length of treatment or the family’s financial capabilities.
