The Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems are designed for riders who like to squeeze the last drop of available power and torque from the engine at the top of the rpm range. The quality of both of these systems is reflected in excel-lent workmanship and top quality materials as well as maximum performance.

PERFORMANCE

Measurements of the Akrapovic EVOLUTION system on the HONDA CBR 600 RR:

Power & Torque: the system is designed to improve performance at the top of the rpm range, with max. power of 113 HP at 13700 rpm. But it also offers an increase in power from the middle of the range up from 6400 to 10000 rpm. The system’s effect on the torque curve is similar to the power curve. The increase starts at around 6200 rpm and continues right into the overrev range.

CONFIGURATION

The Akrapovic RACING and EVOLUTION systems for the Honda CBR 600 RR are configured 4-2-1. The systems differ only in their materials selection. The RACING uses stainless steel, and the EVOLUTION uses titanium. The header tubes are coni-cal, the collector is cylindrical, and then the Y-shaped link pipe is again conical. The header tubes include interference crossover tubes for improved performance. The system also has a fitting for installing a lambda sensor. The individual components of the system, the header tubes, collector, link pipe and muffler, are all attached to each other using sleeve joints secured with silicon-shielded springs. The muffler is the HEXAGONAL design, set in a horizontal position under the seat. The outer sleeve is available in either titanium or carbon fiber. For the Racing model the inlet cap and perforated inner sleeve are made of stainless steel, while the outlet cap is carbon fiber. For the Evolution the inlet cap and perforated inner sleeve are made of titanium, with a carbon fiber outlet cap. The muffler is attached to the frame using an Akrapovic carbon fiber clamp.
