REASON/DESCRIPTION/OPERATIONAL CONSEQUENCES
Three cases of cracks on Main Landing Gear (MLG) Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin have been reported toAIRBUS. These cracks initiated on the inner diameter of the Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin following anoverload leading to the connecting rod bushings fracture.
Corrective actions are done in two steps:
- A clean-up of the fleet through MOD No. 13859S22952 (Service Bulletin No. A300-32-6120) forused pins replacement by a brand new pin with primer paint.
- A new repetitive inspection described in this Inspection Service Bulletin (ISB) that will be performedon the new pin with primer paint post MOD No. 13859S22952 (Service Bulletin No. A300-32-6120).
The aim of this procedure is to perform following inspection / maintenance actions on the aircraft onwhich MOD No. 13859S22952 (Service Bulletin No. A300-32-6120) is embodied:
- Remove MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin with dedicated tooling
- Visually inspect MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin and associated connecting rod bushings
. In case connecting rod bushings are found cracked, distorted or fractured, or the MLG HingeArm / Barrel Pin is found cracked, MLG Leg shall be removed and sent to MRO for inspectionwith the MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin, other side MLG leg should be inspected before nextflight (as per this ISB)
. If the MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin is found with damage (chrome damage, corrosion, cracks),send it to Safran Landing Systems for investigation

SUMMARY
. In case of nil findings, re-install the same MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin on aircraft.
- Repeat inspection within the defined compliance time.
The accomplishment of this Service Bulletin will prevent failures on the MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin.The MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin is a safe life item listed in ALS Part 1. Failure of the Hinge Arm /Barrel Pin could result in a MLG collapse.

NOTE: Service Bulletin No. A300-32-6120 LANDING GEAR - MAIN GEAR -CHANGE BARREL HINGE / ARM PIN WITH NEW WET PRIMER-IMPREGNATED PIN
C. REASON
(1) History
Three cases of cracks on Main Landing Gear (MLG) Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin have beenreported to AIRBUS. These cracks initiated on the inner diameter of the Hinge Arm /Barrel Pin following an overload leading to the connecting rod bushings fracture.
Corrective actions are done in two steps:
- A clean-up of the fleet through MOD No. 13859S22952 (Service Bulletin No.A300-32-6120) for used pins replacement by a brand new pin with primer paint.
- A new repetitive inspection described in this Inspection Service Bulletin (ISB) thatwill be performed on the new pin with primer paint post MOD No. 13859S22952(Service Bulletin No. A300-32-6120).
(2) Objective/Action
The aim of this procedure is to perform following inspection / maintenance actions onthe aircraft on which MOD No. 13859S22952 (Service Bulletin No. A300-32-6120) isembodied:
- Remove MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin with dedicated tooling
- Visually inspect MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin and associated connecting rodbushings
. In case connecting rod bushings are found cracked, distorted or fractured, orthe MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin is found cracked, MLG Leg shall be removedand sent to MRO for inspection with the MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin, other sideMLG leg should be inspected before next flight (as per this ISB)
. If the MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin is found with damage (chrome damage, corrosion, cracks), send it to Safran Landing Systems for investigation
. In case of nil findings, re-install the same MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin onaircraft.
- Repeat inspection within the defined compliance time.
(3) Advantages
The accomplishment of this Service Bulletin will prevent failures on the MLG Hinge Arm /Barrel Pin. The MLG Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin is a safe life item listed in ALS Part 1.Failure of the Hinge Arm / Barrel Pin could result in a MLG collapse.

F. APPROVAL
The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of DesignOrganisation Approval No. EASA.21J.031.
If an aircraft listed in the effectivity has a modification or repair embodied that is not ofAIRBUS origin, and which affects the content of this Service Bulletin, the operator isresponsible for obtaining approval by its airworthiness authority for any adaptation necessarybefore incorporation of the Service Bulletin.
G. MANPOWER
The manpower estimates given in this Service Bulletin are based on the direct labor cost todo the work. These estimates assume that the work will be done by experienced personnel, and may need to be revised upwards to suit operator’s circumstances. The estimates do notinclude the time to prepare, plan or inspect the work. Manufacture and procurement of partsand tools, drying times for paints, sealants, etc., and general administration work are also notincluded.
