DESCRIPTION

Young Scot are requesting organisations to put on a youth-led community event and host a group of young people from another area in Scotland. Best of all, Young Scot will fund up to £1,000 for your group to hold the event! The event could cover history, heritage, culture, diversity, environment, industry, etc and could be done through exhibitions, drama, song, posters, videos, storytelling, or whatever else you can think of! So get creative and think up ideas to help celebrate your local community!

Young Scot is launching an exciting project that gives your youth/community group the chance to host an event to celebrate your local community!Young Scot is asking you to put on a youth-led community event and host a group of young people from another area in Scotland. Best of all, Young Scott will fund up to £1000 for your group to hold the event!

Answer all of the questions applicable to you and your youth/community group and make use of the space available.

2. PERSONAL STATEMENT

Please submit a 300 – 500 word personal statement to tell us your ideas and why we should fund you or your group. Tell us why your project is special and how it is important to you. Tell us:

Why you think your group should be funded £1000 to host a “Homecoming and Going!” event?

Why your local community in particular should be celebrated?

How you will involve the local community in the event and make sure it is well represented?

Give examples from your community’s history, heritage, culture, diversity, environment, industry, etc.

Your personal statement is your chance to shine, so please give as much information as possible. Feel free to use more paper!

Please note, all project ideas should involve different groups from the community which brings people of different ages from within your community together.

3. BUDGET

List your requirements with costs (e.g. equipment, accommodation, transport, expenses, venues, staff time). We like exact costs so please don’t be tempted to round up/down. Please break down costs as fully as possible and enclose quotes if you have them. The more details you give the more likely your application will be successful. The maximum amount that can be awarded is £1000.
