In this new and exciting role you will be responsible for driving online trading performance to meet targets. You will develop and execute a defined trading strategy, manage the online team, market place activity and product lifecycles. Your passion and enthusiasm will drive improvements through strong analysis, planning and execution, following the department’s agreed strategy.

You will have excellent industry knowledge together with a strong awareness of market trends and dynamics along with business sense and B2C sales skills. You will be analytical, computer literate and numerate with strong digital skills and a strong background in retail, team management and budgeting. The successful candidate will be able to manage and perform strategic and profitable online activities, liaising with all stakeholders.

This role will develop our online presence across a number of new market places, focussing on our key furniture proposition. You will ensure that the sales, profit and stock implications are forecast and tracked through daily management of content and online trading, focusing on a continuous customer communication, satisfaction and positive engagement.

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key decision making

1. Management of the online retail team of currently two online sales executives.2. You will take a proactive approach to buying furniture products using key negotiation

and research skills to identify profitable lines.3. Providing key online performance data every month to ensure that targets are met.4. Oversee and implement the newly branded key marketplaces to deliver a professional

online furniture company aesthetic.

Problem solving

1. Optimise the online sales through effective range planning taking into account and constantly reviewing category growth opportunities, trends, space and stock management.

2. Actively ensure that the sales, profit and stock implications are forecast and tracked through daily management of content and online trading. Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking using your self-management and problem solving skills.

3. Investigate and identify online innovations and revenue opportunities and share this knowledge with your line manager and team.

Working with Others

1. Assisting the Head of Trading in the daily business of the department whilst following the agreed business plan to hit the targets and grow the online business for the next financial year.

2. Communicating and liaising with different business functions, suppliers, customers, in particular the Fundraising, Communications and Finance whilst developing and implementing the online strategy, budget and online marketing.

3. Liaise closely colleagues in the online team, developing new income sources and driving stock efficiency across all channels by controlling the ecommerce stock holding and availability whilst optimising the B2C online sales.

Continuous Improvement
