To our very talented flower ladies, who are creating the most beautiful and meaningful flower arrangements for the season of Lent.

To Jenny Meilhon and the Spiritual Life committee for organising a very successful World Women’s Day of Prayer. We had a great turnout and a lovely morning was had by all. A special thanks also to the Maintenance Team, who ensured that our grounds looked neat and beautiful for the day, and Rico de Marigny for always being available as our 'official' photographer.

To Dennis and Anne Anderson on the birth of their granddaughter, Daphne Anne, daughter of Samantha and

  • YOUNG ADULTS’ OUTING

On Friday, 21 February, our Young Adults’ group went to Durban Ice rink as one of their gatherings. There was lots of laughing, a few falls (some more intentional than others), and a great time was had by all who went. There were also the brave three, who managed to stay upright on the ice! The Young Adults get together every second to last Friday of the month and the group is for anyone aged between 18 and 30ish. The guys have a great time and have built many friendships. We are always looking to grow in members, so if you are interested please contact Krissy Cilliers, Luke Davis or Alex Merle. Their contact details can be obtained from the church office.

CORONAVIRUS PRECAUTIONS Parishioners are requested to please note that as per instructions from the Archdiocese of Durban, only the Precious Body will be given during Mass and there will be no shaking of hands during the sign of peace. Please also remember to sanitise your hands before and after Mass. Parishioners are also asked to pray for a safe resolution to the crisis.

    A Coronavirus Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, you travelled through towns and villages “curing every disease and illness.” At your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now, in the midst of the global spread of the coronavirus, that we may experience your healing love. Heal those who are sick with the virus. May they regain their strength and health through quality medical care. Heal us from our fear, which prevents nations from working together and neighbours from helping one another. Heal us from our pride, which can make us claim invulnerability to a disease that knows no borders. Jesus Christ, come to our aid now, that we may experience your healing love. Jesus Christ, healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty and sorrow. Be with those who have died from the virus. May they be at rest with you in your eternal peace.

Be with the families of those who are sick or have died. As they worry and grieve, defend them from illness and despair. May they know your peace. Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process. May they know your protection and peace. Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks. May they know your peace, as they work together to achieve it on earth. Whether we are home or abroad, surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or only a few, Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare. In place of our anxiety, give us your peace. Jesus Christ, heal us. AMEN

  • ADORATION – A MOST NECESSARY MISSION

“Eucharistic Adoration is the most necessary mission to the Church, which has even more need of prayerful souls than of powerful preachers or men of eloquence.

[…] We must have souls who by their importunity re-open the treasures of grace which the

indifference of the multitude has closed.

We must have true adorers; that is to say, people of fervour and sacrifice. When there are many around the divine Saviour, God will be glorified, Jesus loved; society will become

Christian, won to Jesus Christ by the apostolate of Eucharistic prayer.”

    St Peter Julian Eymard (1811-1868)

    WEDDING BELLS

THE LAST LAUGH Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better on his computer. They had been going at it for days, and God was tired of hearing all the bickering. Finally God said, “Cool it. I am going to set up a test that will run two hours and I will judge who does the better job.”

So down Satan and Jesus sat at the keyboards and typed away. They moused. They did spreadsheets. They wrote reports. They sent faxes. They sent e-mails. They sent out e-mails with attachments. They downloaded. They did some genealogy reports. They made cards. They did every known job.

But ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, the rain poured and, of course, the electricity went off. Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld. Jesus just sighed. The electricity finally flickered back on, and each of them restarted their computers.

Satan started searching frantically, screaming “It’s gone! It’s all gone! I lost everything when the power went out!” Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours. Satan observed this and became irate. “Wait! He cheated, how did he do it?”

God shrugged and said, “Jesus saves.”
