In a sea of sundresses, it was the girl who sported a t-shirt bearing the logo of one of her favor ite (but rather obscure) bands that caught Adam’s attention. Since that fateful evening in August of 2004, Lauren and Adam realized that aside from sharing similar tastes in music, they also shared a mutual af fection for one another. But it took a while before things fell into place as college graduations, law school, and budding career aspirations loomed in the future for each of them.Adam’s work commitments eventually took him to Washington D.C. which meant that they both weathered two years of a long-distance relationship before fate conspired once more to br ing them together again in 2011 when Adam relocated back home to Virginia. Adam proposed to Lauren a few years later by planning a picnic on the lawn in front of the Rotunda of their alma mater, University of Virginia, a special spot that brought back fond memories of their time together as students, and now made even more meaning ful .

at the foot of the Blue ridge mountains l ies Pippin Hil l Farm & Vineyards, a place where the t imeless elegance of wine country meets the rustic charm of Charlottesvil le, Virginia’s beautiful countryside. adam and lauren had visited Pippin Hil l several t imes before their engagement, and it had quickly become their favorite place to take in the autumnal fol iage, while relaxing with a bottle of local Cabernet Franc just as the sun cast its shadows upon the valley. Their ceremony was the perfect blend of tradit ion and unconventional, l ighthearted elements. according to lauren, “We really wanted the ceremony to be meaningful to us as a couple, so we crafted every detail of it together with our off iciant. One of the f irst things [our off iciant] did was ask us to eachwrite down our memories from the day we met and the things that we love most about each other. She incorporated our responses, which proved to be both heartfelt and humorous, into [our] ceremony. adam and I also found two beautiful, but non-tradit ional readings (one was an excerpt from the children’s book I like You by Sandol Stoddard Warbarg) and asked two dear friends to recite them. We also put a lot of thought into the ceremony music. my father walked me down the aisle to the tradit ional "Canon in d," but for our recessional, we chose one of our very favorite songs as a couple, "Hoppípolla" by Sigur ros. adam and I both agree that no song makes us feel more happy!”

lauren and adam envisioned a magical, intimate wedding celebration that exuded warmth and incandescence that one naturally dreams of on crisp, autumn days. lynn easton of easton events brought their vision to life with a design that evoked old world beauty in a sumptuous palette of peach, amber, and gold with garden inspired f lorals that appeared to grow naturally in their place. Floral designer, ariella Chezar, constructed a gorgeous ceremonial arbor of blush-toned dahlias and garden roses, while another wild, organic arbor greeted guests at the doorway of the Pippin Hill Granary that guests would walk through to enter the dreamy reception. as a nod to their Southern heritage, one of their signature cocktails was named the Blue ridge Sunset, a blend of bourbon, blood orange juice, and aperol. lauren and adam made sure that their excitement didnot stand in the way of their dining experience, especially since they surprised their guests with a special artisanal cheese course before the wedding cake was served. The couple shared their f irst dance as husband and wife to the tune of "In my life” by the Beatles. “It has such a sweet sentiment about cherishing happy memories of the past while looking forward to building new ones with a special person. That message really resonated with us - we have years of wonderful memories together with friends and family, but we are also incredibly excited about continuing to build our life together,” gushes lauren.
