Feast for Days started with Jonathan, our founder, awkwardly standing at bus stopsoutside of grocery stores, housing projects, and gas stations asking people to let him follow them while they shopped or cooked food.

]

This was part of research he was doing in while in graduate school at the Austin Center for Design. He was trying to gain a deeper understanding of why and how people selected, prepared, and consumed food. Ultimately he wanted to createa product or service that would help communities (including himself) be healthier.

From these experiences Jonathan found that for the people he witnessed

1. People use food as a platform for connecting with others. 2. Cooking in general will be healthier than eating pre-made meals. 3. People are more likely to eat food they learned how to cook with someone else. 4. People feel like the do not have enough time or money to cook for themselves.

Feast for days mission is to make it easy and fun for people to collaboratively cook and share food. We believe that this concept of collaborative cooking has the potential to change communities in a number of ways that include.

• Collaborative cooking gives people a non-awkward way of meeting neighbors & new friends.

• Collaborative cooking teaches people how to cook by using the knowledge and skill sets of friends and neighbors.

• People are more likely to cook something again if they had a positive experience cooking it the first time.

• Collaborative cooking can save time and money when people combine financial, time, and food resources to make meals.
