Registering thewindow/door sensorThis procedure is not required fordevices that were included as part ofa bundle.

Before you can use the window/doorsensor, it must be registered to the hub.If you purchased devices separately(i.e., not as part of a bundle), you mustregister each device to the hub.

You can register each device by usingthe registration buttons or the [HomeNetwork] app.

Using registration buttons1 Hub:

Press and hold M OTHERDEVICEN until the LED indicatorblinks in green.

2 Window/door sensor:Remove the sensor unit cover andpress and hold M N until theLED indicator blinks in green(page 7).R When registration is complete,

the hub sounds one long beep.Note:R To cancel without registering the

sensor, press M N on the hub andon the sensor again.

R If registration fails, the hub soundsseveral short beeps.

Using the appWhen you register the window/doorsensor by using the [Home Network]app, you can assign a name to your

Changing the sensortypeYou can select whether a window/doorsensor functions as a window sensor oras a door sensor. For moreinformation, refer to the User’s Guide(page 17).

WirelesscommunicationrangeThe wireless communication range ofeach device in the system from the hubis approximately 50 m indoors andapproximately 300 m outdoors.Wireless communication may beunreliable when the following obstaclesare located between the hub and otherdevices.R Metal doors or screensR Walls containing aluminium-sheet

insulationR Walls made of concrete or

corrugated ironR Double-pane glass windowsR Multiple wallsR When using each device on

separate floors or in differentbuildings

Note:R You can check the window/door

sensor’s communication status bypressing M N. If the LED indicatoris lit in green or red, the sensor iscommunicating properly with thehub. If the LED indicator blinks inred, it is out of range of the hub.

Temporary placementBefore installing the window/door sensor, temporarily place it in the desiredlocation and confirm that it operates properly by pressing M N.Important:R Attach the sensor unit to the window frame or door frame, and attach the

magnet unit to the window or door.R The window/door sensor will not operate properly if the “ ” marks are too far

apart or are not pointing toward each other.R Attach both units so that the “ ” marks point toward each other and are within

25.4 mm of each other.

Confirming proper operationAfter temporarily placing the window/door sensor in the desired location, pressM N while the window or door is closed. The window/door sensor’s LED indicatorlights as follows.

Indicator StatusGreen, lit The installation position is correct.Red, lit The “ ” marks on the sensor unit and the magnet unit

are too far from each other. Re-attach the sensor unitand the magnet unit so that they point directly at eachother and are no more than 25.4 mm apart.

Red, blinking The sensor unit is out of range of the hub. Refer to theinformation on page 9.

Note:R Depending on the condition and material of the surface where the sensor unit

and magnet unit are installed, the LED indicator may light in red even if the “ ”marks point directly at each other and are no more than 25.4 mm apart.

InstallationInstall the window/door sensor in the same position where proper operation wasconfirmed (page 10). You can install the window/door sensor using screws ordouble-sided tape, depending on your preference or the material of the installationarea.Note:R When installing, make sure the battery is inserted properly and the sensor unit

Securing with double-sided tapeNote:R Make sure the surfaces of the sensor unit, magnet unit, and the installation area

are clean and dry before applying double-sided tape.

1 Check that the sensor unit cover and magnet unit cover are attached.2 Affix double-sided tape to the sensor unit and magnet unit.

R Make sure the tape covers the screw holes on the back of each unit.

3 Install the sensor unit and magnet unit.R Press firmly on each unit to ensure solid adhesion to the installation surface.

Important:R 5 Align the “ ” marks on the sensor unit and the magnet unit so that they

point directly at each other and are no more than 25.4 mm apart.

Removing when secured with double-sided tape

1 Tie a piece of thread to two sticks, screwdrivers, etc.2 Pull the thread tight and use it to cut the double-sided tape, and then remove

Testing the window/door sensorYou can check the window/doorsensor’s LED indicator and test theperformance of the window/doorsensor.1 Remove the sensor unit cover.2 Press M N on the sensor unit.3 Open and close the window or

door several times.R Make sure that the LED

indicator lights in green whenyou close the window or door.

4 Press M N again.Note:R If the LED indicator lights in red

when the window or door is closed,the window/door sensor is notinstalled properly. Re-evaluate theposition of the sensor unit andmagnet unit (page 10).

Features availablewhen using the[Home Network] appSome of the window/door sensor’sfeatures that are available when usingthe [Home Network] app are listedbelow. For more information, refer tothe User’s Guide (page 17).– Alarm system

You can use the app to arm anddisarm the alarm system, confirmthe current status of the sensor, andview a log of previous events.

– Sensor integration

You can configure the window/doorsensor to trigger other systemevents, such as camera recording,turning on an electric device (suchas a lamp), etc. (Appropriate devicerequired.)

– Telephone alertYou can configure the system to calla preprogrammed phone numberwhen the window/door sensor istriggered.
