Beyond the Numbers

11

“Over the past 2 years [our HKHC initiative] has built tremendous momentum and become a well-respected initiative. Key city staff engage us on issues related to public health including: the Parks Board for any special projects, guidelines for the parks, and Block Grant funding requests; Public Works for Complete Streets; the Mayor for initiatives and funding aligned with our mission and vision; and the Board of Health for vacant lots, zoning, and healthy vending in parks.”

“I always love HKHC meetings because I leave inspired! Each year, I’ve made major changes/adjustments when I return home after the conference.”

”[What I liked most was] being re-energized by being with like minded folks as well as being inspired by the work others do...and pushed to do more.”
