Music Activity:

Imagine you are the Iron Man and you have come to the Planet Earth for the very first time. You are standing on top of the cliff looking out to the sea. What can you hear? You stand in silence for a few seconds, before lifting up your great Iron leg. What sound does that make? How do you think the Iron Man is feeling? When making movies or documentaries, backing music has such a great part to play in creating atmosphere. It also helps the listener understand a character’s feelings.

Can you have a go at recreating the backing music for when the Iron Man steps off the cliff. I have set a 2do for you in which I am reading the section from the book. I have stopped reading just before the crash as I thought this would be a great place for sound effects! Your music should reflect the mood felt by the Iron Man before and after his fall. History Activity:

Robots are not just fictional; they exist in the real world too! Starter: Using pages 12,13 and 14, have a go at creating a timeline of robots! Main: I would like you to research about a famous robot of our history. This could be the first ever robot, or one you think has impacted upon society. You choose. If you are really stuck, think about some famous fictional robots, and create a poster telling me when this robot was first created.

Task: Present this information in an informative PowerPoint or Poster. Try to answer these questions: What year was this robot created? Who invented it? Has it had a positive impact on society, and why? What would you change about this robot if you were to invent it now?

For your art activity this week, I would like you to have a go at junk modelling. This is when you use rubbish like empty cereal boxes, packaging, and toilet roll inserts to create something. Have a go at trying to build your very own robot. Once you have stuck it together, try and paint it or decorate it to make it look fantastic too! Perhaps give it a name and post a picture of it onto the blog on Purple Mash. I’d love to see it! Here are some examples:

Being stuck in lockdown can be a frustrating and stressful time for us. Emotions can be overwhelming for you and your families.
