How does my genre attract them?My ‘Pop’ genre music magazine attracts

aged 13-21 year olds due to the stereotypical idea of teenagers having a strong interest in pop

music. They usually listen to well-known common music that is played

in shop stores, on the radio all the time, on TV adverts and shared on social networking sites, this is how

this age group are attracted to a Pop music magazine so much, because

the area between just turning into a teenager all the way up to just

turning into an adult are the most common ages for use of social

networking sites and stereotypically have the most interest in this genre

of music.

I think that both male and female will take a joint interest into my pop music based magazine as it tends to be both female and male that have hobbies including this music, they are sung by artists that are both female and male and so inspire and motivate both female and males also. I think that people in the category of a D/E class are attracted to this music genre from the amount of pop music that is broadcasted throughout schools, colleges, social gatherings and social networking. They end up listening to it in everyday routines that it becomes apart of their routine.

Therefore it became there favorite genre from listening to it to much, it is the most popular genre of music and if its available through easy access, it gives them an even bigger excuse to listen to it.

Pop music is so common through out so many different ethnicities that I didn’t specify an ethnicity, each and every single ethnicity are attracted to pop music in some way. With it being such a popular genre, different ethnicities just find it enjoyable and accessible, also free.

What images did I take/change to suit the audiences?

I took a full body shot of Jade here to develop a sort of attitude within her body language. By making her sit down, it made the image seem more relaxed so that my audience felt more relaxed reading it!I thought the males would be attracted to the ‘seductive’ look she is giving off. I made her look powerful and glamorous by adding saturation so the image and her skin stands out more.

Page 7: Home learning stereotypes

This is so that females will aspire to be like her, and will buy the magazines through inspiration. I put her in casual clothing so that she didn’t look any more than a D/E social class, I wanted her to look quite young and teen like rather than old and classy.

I used this model so that females would want to be and look like her, I want her to look inspirational, and also I want males to find her attractive.

I used a prop in this images to convey the idea of a ‘pop’ genre, and to convey her passion for music. I developed this image to attract the target audience and included the prop to give any passerby’s the opportunity to know exactly what the magazine is about before digging deeper or buying it.

I edited images to look a bit darker, adjusting the exposure and developing a bit more saturation, this is to fit with the stereotypical views of girls wanted to be more tanned and have more colour, so I added saturation to her and made her skin stick out, where as her dark colored clothes remain the same.

I also used the lasso tool so that I was cutting round the model with a more realistic tool rather than chopping little bits of her hair and it looking messy. I wanted youngsters that fell into the E/D class category to look and read into her and be inspired to do just as well if not better and be motivated to do more with their life.

Stereotypes of the music genre I chose within my magazine?

I chose 1 model to appear in my magazine 3 times, I used the same one because the whole pop music magazine was focused on her specifically, and I didn’t want to confuse things. I stereotypically chose an attractive girl to use in my magazine, because I know that it will grab peoples attention, males will find her attractive and want to read more into the magazine, and females may see the model on the front and aspire to be like her, they may then want to read more into it, and into how she actually became the person she became.

Page 11: Home learning stereotypes

Stereo-typically, there are never any unattractive models on a magazine cover, because producers know it isn’t as attention grabbing as having a ‘good looking’ model. This is wrong, and unfair, as everyone is different, however if it’s what the public want to see then producers will be do anything.

How does my headlines and double page spread attract the audiences?

I think my double page spread attracts my target audience due to the motivation and inspiration it has. Many youngsters in the age range I used as my target audience would be very easily intrigued with the story there is behind why Jade became big. Many youngsters aspire to be as big as that one day and so will take it as advice and inspiration. I think both female and male will be wanting to earn a living and one day become big, and so reading into Jade’s life and seeing how it all happened is very important.

The fonts and vocabulary I have used very much matched the age and social class of my target audience. If I had used complete formal language and fonts, and had it looking perfectly in proportion with no fun and edgy layouts then the magazine would very quickly become very boring. Then they will have lost their interest instantly. I decided to use quite informal chatty language so that the people reading my magazine could grow a relationship. I therefore think the informal that a more sophisticated vibe throughout the magazine would have been a lot less attractive towards the viewers. The puns I used really grab the readers attention because ‘Free Poster included’ is still quite exciting for 13 year olds, as they are still in school, still studying and are still into things like that.

Campaigns' 13 to 21 is a big age gap to cater for with all the same campaigns, I

think anyone would find it difficult to apply the exact same campaigns' to each age from 13 to 21 because they are all

into completely different things and have a lot of space between them.

I would put a festival on to campaign ad raise awareness of Jade Mason, this would be open to a much wider target audience

and probably would cater to each age from 13-21. However it does depend on the other artists performing there alongside

Jade Mason. This would target different teenagers due to their interest in social gatherings and meetings, in seeing friends, in making new friends, and seeing there favorite

artists performing, seeing new artists performing or even just having fun. Offering younger audience members the chance

to meet up and coming artists backstage may also be an ideal opportunity and will produce Jade Mason a bigger and much

faster growing fan base. A campaign involving a festival I think would also very much target an equal amount of both male

and female

Page 15: Home learning stereotypes

I think merchandise would work well also. People are always interested in buying merchandise to

go to concerts, festivals or even just buying them out of interest. T-shirts could be sold at festivals, gigs, or even on an online site. This would help the income of the up and coming

artist and would also raise a huge awareness if people spot other people wearing it. They will

automatically wonder who the Artist is and may also take an interest.

Our up and coming Artists could also bring a clothing range out, that consists of her style,

(because people will envy and aspire to be like her). The younger age range of my target

audience stereotypically go through phases of being very much interested in their appearance and fashion. Therefore I think a clothing range,

or merchandise will be a real hit with the teens.

Page 16: Home learning stereotypes

This may be a unique fashion but still quite fashionable, and will be interesting to the public eye. This will really grab fans attention and even random public members that pass the store will wonder in and then be made aware of Jade Mason and her up and coming a career. This is the same with a perfume or makeup range that is named after jade. It builds a much bigger fan base and also targets random public members, not just fans. I think there would be quite an impressive gap in the market for perfume or makeup campaigning as both male and female would be interested. For example, Perfumes and makeup could be gifts off boys/boyfriends/partners and girls would also be very much interested in it. I think the ages and genders I needed to provide for would very much be interested and appreciate the idea of all these campaigning ideas I have developed due to there suitability.
