Feedback Think about how successful your Colour Wheel was for this week’s lesson.

Think about what went well…

Your colour wheel should have been inventive, you had the opportunity to think out of the box with this task!

Does your colour wheel demonstrate the correct coloursin the correct order?

Is it creative? Is it original?

Is it well made? Have your taken time to construct it carefully and neatly?

Does it communicate all your colour theory knowledge?

Even better if…Was your design idea challenging enough?

Could you create something more detailed?

Using a range of materials or different media, create your own colour wheel. You can make it, draw it, paint it, photograph it, even bake it!

Feedback Think about how successful your Jasper Johns research board was for this week’s lesson.

Think about what went well…

Did you use the set criteria for the elements you had to include on your board?

Does your board demonstrate a variety of images?

Is your layout creative? Is it original?

Is it well constructed? Have you taken time to draw the title lettering and studies carefully?

Even better if…Could you use a more difficult media to add colour to your studies?

Could you add personal opinion about the artist?

Did you use the style of JJ to present your information?Did you create an exciting background?

Create a research board on artist Jasper Johns.Include;A well drawn titleImages of his work A drawing of one of his works of art –You can use any media to do this.Be creative with your pages! Consider a background and/or a border.

Could you add more information, more detail?

Could the level of information be more challenging?

Lesson 6 & 7: Paint your own Colour Wheel

1. Draw your circle on A3 paper. 2. Outline your circle marking off the

sections.

3. Using a ruler split the sections.

4. Label the colours lightly with soft pencil line.

5. Follow the tutorial and apply your tonal paint. Primary colours first followed by secondary colours and finally tertiary colours.

1. Mix your watercolours on your pan lid.

2. Paint around the outside the wheel; start with a stronger colour and fade it out into a wash as you move away.

3. Wash your brush by swooshing in the cup and draining on the rim. Remember there should be no paint around the top of your cup.

Page 17: Home Learning 7Z3 - brineleas.cheshire.sch.ukbrineleas.cheshire.sch.uk/Docs/HomeLearning/Yr7... · Lesson 3 - Research the artist Jasper Johns –Wk 3 –20th April Lesson 4 - Create

FeedbackThink about how successful your colour wheel was for this week’s lesson.

Think about what went well…

Did you plan out your colour wheel successfully?

Does your wheel demonstrate the correct tones?

Did you apply your primary colours, then secondary, and lastly tertiary?

Did you paint darker at the edge of the circle and use water to ‘fade’ it out to a wash?

Even better if…Is your colour work even, no lines or ‘pools’ of colour?

Could your colours be more accurate? Are there any colours that are too similar?

Could the application be neater?

You had to create your own colour wheel, preferably with watercolour but any paint or crayon is acceptable.

Lesson 6 & 7 (2 x 40 minutes).
