Your Visit to the Dentist.

 

Going to see the dentist is a good thing to do.

The dentist is a person who can help you to keep your teeth healthy.

 

You will be with the dentist for about 1 hour.

 

Sometimes people can feel a bit worried before they go to the dentist.

 

The dentist will make sure that you are safe and happy.

This is the front entrance.

Here is the waiting room.

You can sit here and wait to be seen

The dentist will ask some questions about what you eat and drink.

 This is because some things we eat and drink can cause problems with our teeth.

A nurse or dentist wearing a purple uniform will come and meet you.

The nurse or dentist will show you to your dental room.

The dentist will ask you questions about brushing your teeth.

This is because it will help your teeth stay healthy if you brush them very well.

 The dentist will ask questions about your health.

The dentist will wash their hands.

 

The dentist will put on clean gloves.

The dentist might put on a mask and a visor.

 

The dental chair is a special chair that you can sit or lie down on. If you lie down on the chair the dentist can see your teeth better.

The dentist needs to look in your mouth to check all your teeth.

The dentist will use a mirror when they check your teeth to help them see better.

If you are not happy while your teeth are being checked you can ask the dentist to stop by waving a hand.

The dentist will look and check your teeth for about 5 minutes.

 When the dentist has finished checking your teeth, you can leave the dentists room and go home.

The dentist will talk to you about your teeth.

 

They will let you know if your teeth need any treatment.
