Her Life

Audrie Candis Mitchell Harper was born in Joilet, Illinois on August 19, 1930 to the late Warren and Maude Williams. She was raised in Biloxi, Mississippi but raised her family in Trenton, New Jersey. Audrie accepted Christ at an early age. She taught reading and writing for the Board of Education in Trenton, New Jersey for over twenty-five years retiring in 1995. She loved to sew, crochet, and sing in the church choir. She participated in the Advent Sunday School Bible Study for many years. When her health started to decline Audrie relocated to Georgia in November of 2017. Audrie worshipped with the New Hope Baptist Church family. She was a true child of God and was a faithful Christian to the end. Audrie was preceded in death by husbands Cornelius Mitchell, Fred Walker, and Nathaniel Harper; three sons, Karl Mitchell, Dwayne Mitchell, and Alan Mitchell; and three brothers, Gerald Williams, George Williams, and Charles Huddlestone. She leaves to cherish her memory, Joy Love (Bruce) of Cartersville, Georgia, Dale Mitchell (Liz) of Trenton, New Jersey, and Iris Smith of Virginia Beach, Virginia; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; special friends, Liz Webster of Maryland and Amanda Seay of New Jersey; and a host of other family and friends.
