body. It’s game time!
WHAT WE ARE
LEARNING TODAY

produce up to 350 pounds of
grapefruit in one season!

3-5 MATH
How much do these weigh?
A can of soda weighs 12 oz.
A bag of sugar weighs 5 lbs (or 80 oz. )
A can of tuna fish weighs 5 oz.
A container of sour cream weighs 10 oz.
How much do YOU weigh?
3-5 MATH
Averaging Numbers Averaging – you add up all the numbers and then
divide by how many numbers you added.
After you have figured the weight of
all of your grapefruit, you will need to
average the weights to come up with
an AVERAGE. Grapefruit #1 weighed 20 oz.
Grapefruit #1 weighed 14 oz
Grapefruit #1 weighed 12 oz
Grapefruit #1 weighed 18 oz
TOTAL WEIGHT: 64 oz
Now divide that number by 4
(how many numbers I added together)
and you get the AVERAGE WEIGHT.
