Many of us are generous with our gifts. However, many of us are not generous in proportion to the gifts we have been given. How often do we give at the minimum level required? Remember, the Lord calls us to nurture and develop our gifts. He calls us to be generous with all the gifts He has given us, especially the one that means the most to us.

Holy Trinity update from Fr Lorne
Sunday Mass 10 am pre-registrations—by Thursday morning this week we already had over 50 requests to attend Sunday Mass this weekend. To accommodate as many of you as possible, we are giving the option of seating in the Gathering Area. We already have 7 booked for September 13, so if you wish to attend, call or email Val or the office. Phone messages and email will be responded to during office hours (9 am to 2 pm, Tuesday to Friday this week.)
Now that the calendar has rolled over to September, we are hearing from more people about coming back to Mass. Val, Heather and I will be meeting this week with some of our Liturgy team plus others who have been helping with Masses this spring and summer. We are aiming at returning to three weekend Masses in October when Fr. Ricardo arrives, but this will depend on having parishioner help with this.
Saturday 5 pm Mass—we have two Confirmation Masses Saturdays at 5 pm (Sept. 12 & 26 for registered families only). Therefore, we plan to resume Saturday 5 pm Masses starting October 3. We need at least 3 helpers at each Mass.
Duties of Mass helpers: 1 person posted at north door to ensure parishioners have completed self-assessment, record their name and phone number. 1 person in the Gathering Area to remind people to sanitize hands and ensure social distancing until they can be seated. 1 person in the church to seat parishioners. Contact the office if you are willing to assist.
Mass Registration details on page 5. We are following the protocols in place by SK Government and Archdiocese. These documents are avail-able on the Archdiocese website if you have questions about protocols.
Sacramental Preparation
Baptism Preparation (for parents of infants and young children).
Next session is Thursday, October 6 at 7:00 pm. Class fee is $20
For children age 7 and older who have not yet been baptized, we
have classes for the children and parent(s) beginning in September.
Parents of children in Grade 2 and up for the 2020/2021 school year you can now register your child for the sacraments of Confirmation, First Holy Communion, and First Reconciliation.
Classes begin Sunday, September 27.
Parent orientation meeting is Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 7:00 pm in the Church. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all registrations must be received before this date. You cannot enter the church for the meeting unless you have pre-registered. Registration is $50/child or $75/family payable before or on that evening. We accept cash, cheque or e-mail transfer. Class schedules
are on our website under the Sacraments tab.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) The RCIA is a process for adults seeking initiation into the Catholic Church. Weekly gatherings consist of prayer and sharing as we come
to discover where God is calling each person. The process is open to:
all those not baptized
those baptized in another denomination now seeking to make a
profession of faith in the Catholic Church and be confirmed and
receive Holy Eucharist
those baptized Catholics who have not completed their Christian
Initiation (have not been Confirmed and/or have not received First
Eucharist)
The RCIA journey involves the faith community as a whole by deepening its own conversion to Christ and by providing a prayerful
example of Christian living for those inquiring into the Catholic faith.
For more information regarding Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion, Reconciliation, and RCIA, contact
Val Magnuson, Pastoral Assistant, at 306-924-2602.

Other Liturgy Changes—
Promptness—to ensure we can monitor who is
attending, the doors will be locked at the start of Mass.
This also allows us to provide the proper number of
hosts needed for that Mass.
Instructions about the Mass will be done either by
announcement or individual instructions before Mass
with detailed instructions for Eucharist.
Singing is a high-risk activity so we will not have this
except for special music as we can fit this in safely.
Proclaimers of the Word—First Reading, Psalm and
Second Reading will all be proclaimed by the same
person. This will be done from a microphone at the
front, with care being taken to not share a microphone
within 72 hours of another person. The ambo (lectern)
and the microphone there are to be used only by
Father Lorne.
Collection—a donation box is inside the glass doors
for your envelope instead of being collected from you
in the pew.
Eucharist—hosts will be consecrated on a table and
parishioners will come forward, one household group
at a time. Stand behind the black tape line; Father will
say “The Body of Christ”; respond ‘Amen’, then step
forward and pick up the host closest to you; take a
step or two away before consuming.
We are working hard to help get you back to Mass.
Thank you for your patience as we try things to see
what works for Holy Trinity.
Holy Trinity open for Masses for
approximately 50
Government of Saskatchewan guidelines for Places of
Worship are permitting more people in churches that can
accommodate them by following the needed protocols for
distancing and cleaning.
At Holy Trinity, we have seating for approximately 50
people, dependent on whether they come as couples,
singles or families. We are registering as many as
possible for weekend Masses and monitoring how many
helpers we need to provide the controls required for
distancing and cleaning.
Masks are recommended by the City of Regina for indoor
public spaces. You are encouraged to wear one.
Requests for Sunday 10 am Mass Attendance are
being co-ordinated in the office. Two Sunday Masses will
resume as soon as we have enough helpers to assist with
this. Call the parish office (306) 543-3838 or email
[email protected]. Requests will be handled during our
regular office hours, which have been Monday to Friday, 9
am to 2 pm. Please provide a day-time phone number so
we can call you back and confirm an attendance date.
Questions about your health will be asked at time of book-
ing (see separate box). Those registered are being given
detailed instructions.
Weekday Mass Attendance - Generally weekday
Masses are Monday to Friday at 8:30 am. You do not
need to register in advance. Come to the north door; we
will record your name and phone number and ask the
health assessment questions.
Sat 5 pm Mass will resume October 3, as long as we can
fill the positions needed Saturday afternoons. More
details to confirm this in next week or two.
Church Open for Prayer—We will continue to have the
church open for prayer from 9 am to 2 pm, Monday to
Friday, unless otherwise published in the bulletin.
We may need to close occasionally to ensure staff aren't
working too many hours to accommodate the required
protocols.
Church Pews—at Holy Trinity are marked to for the
2 metre guidelines of social distancing. Our upholstered
pews cannot be sanitized. If you wish to bring your own
seat cushion or towel, please do so. The wooden pews
on the south side of the church do not have upholstery. If
you prefer to sit there, check with the person directing this.
Seating for Mass will be done from front to back. For exit-
ing after Mass, it will be reversed, from back to front.
These directions will be announced at the Mass.
Photos on website—check these out on the home page
to give you an idea of our setup.

The Archdiocese of Regina Lay Formation Program“I’d love to take this course, but I want to wait until; my kids are grown, I can slow down at work, I’m retired...”The sad truth is, nearly 75% of young people, even those raised in religious homes, will leave the Church by the time they are 25 - well before many of us retire! Some of the most common reasons given for leaving one’s faith behind include; perceived conflicts between faith and science, Christians behaving badly, a lack of evidence for the existence of God, and difficulties with some of the Church’s teachings. Our sons and daughters need mentors who are “well-trained and animated by a sincere faith..whose life has been touched by the personal and merciful love of Jesus Christ” (Pope Francis). We are currently accepting applications for our Fall intake. For more information on how to register or our COVID-19 health and safety protocols, please contact our Program Coordinator, Deacon Eric Gurash at 306-352-1651 ext 211 or email him at [email protected]

August 26, 2020 Dear Friends, Late summer greetings! We hope and pray these summer days have been blessed for all of you. They have been good for us. We did individually get away for some holiday time, mostly in this beautiful province, although Christine and Peter did visit their families in Ontario. Now we are preparing to re-open next week, something we always look foward to – it is like the beginning of a new year. However, this ‘new year’ is not like other years because of the Covid restrictions. Our hope had been to re-open our dining room, we will need to continue to serve our meals as bagged lunches from the front door for the coming months - until there is a significant change in the social distancing requirement. We continue to think of ways we can best serve those who come to us and to make the hospitality we offer personal. Including home baked goods in our lunch bags, especially muffins, has been one way of our doing this. Your continued support with this will be appreciated – as well as any other items for the lunch bags ( such as granola bars, juice packs, meat and cheese for sandwiches, fruit). We do assist, upon request, a vareity of other needs, including personal hygiene and mens’ clothing. Women and children have been coming for lunch bags as well – but our clothing room is just for men. We need to continue to suspend the regular rotation of weekly volunteers - until we can re-open the dining room and resume our drop-in and hotmeal program. Our annual rotation of CWL volunteers will also need to be suspended. However, a few volunteers are helping us with our present program and we are so glad for this. It is an understatement to say we miss seeing so many of you on a regular basis! We certainly pray for you all, and we count on your prayers – especially that we be creatively faithful to those we have been called to serve in these unusual and difficult days. With our love, Charlie for Kate, Christine, David and Peter
