COLUMBARIUM FOR ST. MICHAEL
ST. AGNES CEMETERY
At the recommendation of the Holy Trinity Parish
cemetery commission, and with the approval of
our Finance Commission and Parish Council, we
are pleased to announce that a columbarium will
be added to St. Michael/St. Agnes Cemetery. A
columbarium enables those who have been
cremated to be placed above ground in a secure
reverent manner. Many of the cemeteries in our
area already have this
capability. Our columbarium
will have 40 niches each of
which can hold two
cremations. This project is
made possible by a donation
from the estate of Mary
Ellery, which covers a
significant portion of the
expense. The columbarium
will be placed near the boundary of St. Agnes and
St. Michael cemetery. An artist rendering of the
design is on the easel in the vestibule of our
church. The design will incorporate the
refurbished Christ the King statue that was in front
of St. Agnes Church on a pedestal and two
benches for seating. The plan is to have this in
place for our Memorial Day Mass at the cemetery.
In the design there is a pedestal for the Christ the
King statue and two benches. We are offering
those who may be interested to make donations
toward the pedestal, $4,300, and the two benches,
$1,200 each. Anyone making a donation will have
the option of having their name engraved on the
pedestal or bench. If interested, please contact
the parish office. If we do not get donations for
these items the balance required will be taken
from the Salois Cemetery Endowment.
A columbarium provides a cost effective and
reverent manner to place cremations in our
cemetery. Please contact the parish office if you
would like to consider this alternative for burial.
If you have any questions please contact Deacon
Gary directly on this topic or see the board in the
vestibule.
PRAYERS FOR LENT
Heavenly Father, you commanded and invite
believers in Jesus to pray. I stand amazed that
you desire intimate conversation with me, but I
confess, O Lord, that my prayer life is not what it
should be. I often lack the words to express my
gratitude, and in my selfishness, I forget to pray for
those who are in need. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for
interceding on my behalf. Grant me grace to
speak with the confidence of knowing you will hear
my prayers for Christ’s sake. Amen

THE DIOCESE OF SAGINAW
THE SHROUD OF TURIN COMING TO DIOCESE OF SAGINAW
Just in time for the beginning of Lent…the Diocese of Saginaw is honored to host the Shroud of Turin
Replica Exhibit, which is on loan from the Marytown Franciscan community in Illinois. After 36 years of
exhaustive and medical, historical and scientific research, the Center for the Study of the Passion of the
Christ and the Holy Shroud has developed a moving and informative exhibit. The centerpiece is a full
length photographic image of the Shroud made by the Eastman Kodak Co. In addition, the mobile exhibit
contains a large crucified corpus showing the wounds of Christ corresponding to the passion narrative in
the Gospel accounts and the wounds shown on the Shroud. The exhibit contains 92 panels detailing the
history and science of the Shroud.
There is no cost to view the exhibit, however, donations are
welcome. The exhibit will be open to the public at the Center for Ministry
in Saginaw during these times:

FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT
“After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God …” Mark 1:14
Imagine how difficult it must have been for Jesus to come into Galilee, knowing that John had just been ar-
rested for teaching the same message he was proclaiming. Jesus obviously had great love and trust in what
the Father had sent Him here on Earth to do. Similarly, living life as a Christian steward takes great love and
trust. We must trust that God will always give us all that we need to fulfill His plan for us.
