The Lord calls us to love God and to love our neighbor. Every day we are presented with opportunities to love our neighbor and help him “carry his cross”. These opportunities aren’t usually big events, they are usually ordinary occurrences like helping someone carry their groceries or holding the door open for them. The key is putting the other person’s needs before our own and not expecting anything in return.

deductible. Use the special envelopes from the
Flower Fund Display in the gathering area.
Donations may be put in collection basket or leave
with the Flower Fund display.
EASTER BASKETS for our Shut-Ins, a Social Justice committee
project. The baskets contain: A Mass Intention card, snack
treats and special cards created by St.Josaphat & St. Joan of
Arc students. The Easter treats are delivered by our Home
Ministry of Care volunteers who visit our shut-ins each week &
take the Body of Christ to them. Donations still accepted in the
Gold Box in the Gathering Area. God Bless all who contributed.

New Paint for Spring in Our Parish Hall—Many

couldn’t refuse. Charles donated his time to paint and
obtained donated and greatly-discounted wall and
ceiling paint —Thanks to Sherwin Williams (175 N.

donated paint supplies.
Thanks also to Tom Kaminski, our Buildings &
Grounds rep, for assisting Charles with preparing the

FROM DEATH TO LIFE!
The Triduum, or "three days" of the Easter celebration, is the liturgical event for which we have prepared throughout the entire forty days of Lent. The secret to a good celebration is to keep in mind that the Triduum is one continuous liturgy. It begins on the evening of Holy Thursday with the Mass of the Lord's Supper,
extends through Good Friday's Liturgy of the Passion, the Easter Vigil on Easter eve, Mass on Easter Sunday, and concludes with Sunday's Evening Prayer. The three days are counted in the ancient fashion, evening to evening: Thursday to Friday, Friday to Saturday, and Saturday to Sunday. There is a tendency to approach the celebration of the Triduum as three unrelated days: the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, the crucifixion on Good Friday, and the resurrection on Easter Sunday. But that's not how it goes. From Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday in a continuous, albeit punctuated liturgy, we celebrate the unity of the Paschal Mystery--the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ!
HOLY THURSDAY The establishment of the Eucharist, which we commemorate on this first evening of the Triduum, lays a foundation for the Paschal Mystery. Jesus Christ took on flesh and was born of a woman so that God might share completely in the human experience, bearing our sins, suffering, and even dying. Now Jesus establishes the other side of the equation of salvation. Just as God in Jesus Christ takes a full share in our humanity, so do we in Jesus Christ receive a full share of God. Christ, undeserving of punishment, pays the full price for our sins. And we, undeserving of salvation, receive a full measure of God's grace. This holy exchange is celebrated in the Eucharist, the source and summit of sacramental life in the church.
The hidden reality of the food we eat and the cup from which we drink is the body and blood of Christ. The sacred mystery of Christ's presence, his dying and rising, enters us and becomes part of us. But the living Christ within us would be a conflict for us if we did not conform our lives to his. Jesus says in the gospel, "What I have done for you, you must do for one another." He washed the feet of his disciples. We must do the same. That means recognizing that everyone we encounter has picked up some dirt on the road of life. In ancient times, rather than track dirt into the house, a servant would wash the feet of a traveler so that he or she could enter comfortably. In the same way we are to care for those who show up at our door carrying the dirt of transgression and offense. So that they might be comfortable and at peace in our presence, we extend to them the cleansing service of forgiveness. Just as God has forgiven us, we must forgive one another.
GOOD FRIDAY At the beginning of this liturgy, the Assembly kneels or lies prostrate before the altar. This is a sign of supplication and surrender. The mystery of Christ in us is that he surrendered to death so that we might live. In response, we surrender to the same death, "for if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his" (Romans 6:5). Christ bore the weight of the cross for our sins and the sins of the whole world. The Paschal Mystery isn't about picking and choosing who earns a place in heaven and who deserves the punishment of hell. It's a matter of God's infinite love, which is greater than sin, and God's desire to save the lost. If I believe myself to be righteous before God because I have been good and followed
the rules, then I miss the point. For "all have sinned," Saint Paul writes in Romans 3:23, "and fall short of the glory of God." If I judge and condemn others, then I'm only condemning myself, "because you, the judge, are doing the very same things" (Romans 2:1). When we reverence the cross of Christ on Good Friday, and receive Holy Communion, we are accepting the life of Christ in us. We accept, too, the burden of the sins of the world. We will be offended, as Christ was offended. But we will practice forgiveness because that is the way to glory, eternal life, and the kingdom of God.
EASTER The empty tomb is the sign that the Paschal Mystery is near completion. "The last enemy to be destroyed is death," Saint Paul writes in 1Corinthians 15:26, and Jesus has won the victory over death. Jesus made himself the servant of all in the world and became the Lord of all in the kingdom. He was judged and condemned in the world but won acquittal for all in the kingdom. He humbled himself and was exalted. He gave himself up to suffering and death and was raise to glory. And from his place on high he invites us to follow. We have a choice: claim the world and lose the kingdom, or renounce the world and gain the kingdom. But be sure of this: the world and everything in it is passing away. Cling to the world and you will pass away with it. The kingdom, however, is coming. It is an eternal kingdom, and it will never pass away. In the kingdom, God accomplishes the goal of
divine love, God's purpose from the beginning: to be united with us forever.

Holy Trinity Parish and CWL- 50 years of Memories
1967-2017
There are many memories to be shared by those parishioners who have built our community to
what it is today. The reality is, that unless documented, those memories will be lost. Therefore,
to celebrate the 50th anniversaries of the parish and CWL a history book is planned that will
include some of these memories, but I need your help. Please share up to 3 of your fondest
memories that you and/or your family have while you have been at Holy Trinity either as a
