Faculty at HNU are just as passionate about your educational experience as they are about
the classes they teach. They will share, explore and cultivate these interests with you. At HNU
you will learn about the history o Central America rom one o our proessors who grew up
in El Salvador. You will read essays and explore literature with a proessor who is a published
author. You will also learn the accounting eld and marketing strategies rom a proessor who
is a Certied Public Accountant and who was the owner o a privately held company. Our
proessors are passionate and engaged in their elds, and will share their knowledge and
enthusiasm with you.
Faculty who connect
Our aculty are experts in their elds with
impressive academic backgrounds. Most
o them have earned doctorates and many
have published scholarly articles and books.
Some o your classes will even consist o
15-18 students, providing an opportunity to
closely interact with aculty. We provideacademic support and study skills training
through the Student Success Center. We also
oer internships, sel-designed majors and
other programs that bring learning to lie.

Brennan Hall at Holy Names University is a
15,800 square oot ull-service student center
with classrooms, aculty ofces, a bookstore,
a lounge, a ca, the HEDCO Technology
Center, the Center or Social Justice and Civic
Engagement and the Student Success Center
(SSC). HEDCO Technology Center has state othe art cross-platorm large screen Apple
computers making it simple to use them as a
PC or a Mac. The SSC oers tutoring, laptop
computer loaners, career guidance, health
and wellness counseling and psychological
services and materials, international student
services (ISS) and disability support services.
On campus we stay connected as a commu-
nity through ele ctronic communication
portals like Blackboard and MYHNU student
email. Wireless internet throughout the
campus allows you to orm study groups and
research your next essay topic rom just
about anywhere youd like.
In class, proessors utilize SmartBoard
technology to make taking notes and
keeping up with lectures simple and easy.
As proessors record in-class discussion
notes, the inormation is uploaded immedi-
ately to your student portal or uture study.

Imagine a total educational experience that helps
you achieve your academic, athletic, and personal
goals. Our student athletes have won 54 Coner-
ence Championships, made 36 appearances at
National Championships, and received numerous
individual awards (35 All-Americans, 53 Academic
All-Americans, 25 Conerence MVPs).
At HNU, you will join a community o leaders on
and o the playing elds! Our student athletes
serve in leadership positions across campus and on
the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Last year
alone, our student athletes perormed over
40,000 service hours!The leadership and guid-
ance our coaches provide have garnered 26
Conerence Coach o the Year Awards.
HNU Athletics was recently accepted or candi-
dacy or NCAA II membership and competes in
the Pacic West Conerence, which includes
universities in Caliornia, Hawaii, Utah, and
Arizona.

While you may come up with great ways to
have un on your own, student organizations
like the HNU Spirit Club and the Outdoor
Activities Klub (OAK), make sure that there isalways something un to do on or around
campus. You will probably nd that there is
already a club or organization that is dedi-
cated to one o your avorite activities. I
there isnt, be creative! At HNU, students are
encouraged to start new clubs and initiate
new activities.

As an incoming reshman you will participate
in our Connections Project First Year Experi-
ence. This program is specically designed to
help students build relationships with each
other, aculty and sta as they develop a
deeper understanding o Holy Names
University. The program was designed with aprimary goal o assisting students with a
successul transition to college, while
developing students into leaders o positive
social change through interactions with the
campus and local community.
Students choose rom a variety o courses
which are all connected to a campus learning
community. The learning communities are
designed around three areas o commitment
to social justice: Diversity, Leadership and
Service.

100% o the incoming students to Holy Names
University receive some sort o HNU grant or
scholarship assistance in paying or school. This
is money we give you to help pay or school that
you dont ever have to pay back.
It is the goal o HNU to assist students with the
overall cost o attendance: tuition, books, roomand board, travel, etc. Along with HNU nancial
assistance, most students will apply or ederal
nancial aid using the FAFSA (ree application
or ederal student aid) which can be ound at
wwwfafsaedgov. The application is ree and
this is how you qualiy or grants, loans, and
ederal work study to assist in paying or college.
Caliornia residents who qualiy or the Cal Grant
will receive up to $9,223 per year to help pay or
