The Annual Memorial Mass for parishioners, relatives and friends of parishioners who have died during the past year (since Nov 2019) will be held at Holy Name of Jesus on Monday, November 2nd at 7pm All names of the deceased submitted by Thursday, October 22nd will be included in a printed program for the Mass. ADVANCED CARE PLANNING
There will be virtual (zoom) educational sessions being offered to all those interested. This is an opportunity for all those interested in discussing options for advanced care planning to engage in a dedicated live virtual learning session exploring the importance of having a personal care plan in place, including review of state documents and their value. You may register for one of 2 sessions being offered: Thursday, November 12th, or Thursday November 19th, both to occur at 6p. Registration is required. Please contact the rectory to register.

PARISH UPDATE
After Hurricane Laura, a tree fell onto the rectory roof and split five rafters in the attic. This is covered by insurance but Holy Name has a $2,500 deductible to pay.
A power surge also affected our Church sound system. A new sound unit and power surge protector was installed at the cost of $4,007. Insurance would not cover it.
Holy Name installed a bi-polar ionization device to improve the indoor air quality at Church. These devices have ben proven to kill mold, bacteria and viruses similar to Covid-19. This cost $2,660 for the rooftop unit attached to our system.
BLESSING OF ANIMALS There will be a blessing for animals on Saturday, October 10th at 12 Noon,(PLEASE NOTE: date change) bring your pet,
caged or leashed, to the statue of St Francis and all must wear masks.
ROSARY RALLY Saturday, October 10th at 10am in honor of OUR LADY OF FATIMA the Rosary will be recited in the Church
ANNIVERSARY MASS Couples who celebrate their 25, 45th,
50th, 60th on their Wedding Anniversary in 2020 are invited to renew their vows at a special 10am Mass on Sunday, October
18th. Please call the Rectory by Tuesday, October 13th to register.
PRAYER SHAWL RQUESTS
Do you know someone who is ill or bereaved, or is feeling the effects of aging and could use a shawl or lap blanket for comfort and warmth? We will be happy to donate one to them. For meetings or requests please call or email Christine at 914-761-7243, [email protected].
LAST MAN STANDING (Our only fundraiser) RAFFLE TICKETS are currently available at the Rectory. Due to the coronavirus the original drawing was postponed to a
later date in the fall. To date we have sold 89 tickets (the mon-ey is in escrow) and need to sell 300 for Holy Name to have a
profit of fifteen thousand. The tickets are $100 each. And there will be only 300 tickets
sold. The winner need not be present to claim a prize.
