Feb. 2, 2020: Feast of the
Presentation of the Lord
PRAYER AND REFLECTION THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time February 2nd 2020 Read Luke 4:21-30 In today’s Gospel, even Jesus the divine healer could not heal those he loved the most. How often is this true for us? We ache for our suffering loved ones; we long to be an agent of comfort or counsel for our dear friends, our parents, our spouse, our children. Yet so often they are the very people we cannot help, the ones we must entrust to God. Let us pray today for those we hold most dear, and for ourselves, that we may be open to God’s word today.
All believers are called to intercede for the world. Even if we are people of little influence, even if we cannot help those we love the most, we can pray for them. Indeed, prayer is the first duty of love. Let us pray.
For the church: for cooperation among all believers to serve the needy of the world … we pray,
For healing among the nations: for nonviolent solutions to the problems of inequity and injustice … we pray,
For healing within our nation and our communities: for dialogue among those who disagree … we pray,
We remember those who have died; for those who have died too soon and who are mourned every day by those who love them … we pray,
As we begin this new week, let us pause for a moment and remember all those for whom we have promised to pray; for those we love, and for those who have no one to pray for them … we pray, PRAYER:
Loving God, we pray that you strengthen the love that unites families in peace and joy. And grant that our community may know the peace and unity that is a sign of your presence among us. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

HOLY FAMILY PARISH THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD
Recebamos a luz clara e eterna.
