Feast of the Holy Family (Cycle B) A Sunday Reflection Today the Church celebrates the feast of the Holy Family. Jesus,

Mary and Joseph, in their home in Nazareth, are an example of what every family should be: loving, serving and trusting in God. We end the year with the celebration of the Holy Family and begin a new one with the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, one of the dogmas of our faith about the Virgin Mary. She is Theotokos, “Mother of God”, because Jesus is God, as was affirmed in the First Council of Ephesus in the year 431.

The year now ending has been a difficult one for all of us. And yet, God’s providence and mercy have always accompanied us in the midst of these trying times. But a new year is a fresh new beginning. It’s a great opportunity to improve and become a better version of ourselves in all areas, regardless of the difficulties that may face us.

The Holy Father has dedicated this year as the year of St. Joseph, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of his being proclaimed patron of the Catholic Church. Let us entrust our families to the special care of the blessed foster father of Jesus, and ask that he and the Holy Mother of God may protect us always and keep us safe from all harm. Happy New Year! As 2021 begins, let us pray for peace in our hearts, families, countries, and the whole world and for the end of this pandemic. May Jesus, King of peace, bring peace to all nations. Fiesta de la Sagrada Familia (Ciclo B)

Reflexión Dominical Hoy la Iglesia celebra la fiesta de la Sagrada Familia. Jesús,

María y José, en su hogar de Nazaret, son el ejemplo de lo que toda familia debe ser: un lugar de amor, de servicio y de confianza en Dios. Terminamos el año con la celebración de la Sagrada Familia y comenzamos el próximo con la Solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios, uno de los dogmas de nuestra fe sobre la Virgen María. Ella es la Theotokos “Madre de Dios”, porque Jesús es Dios, como afirmó el primer concilio de Éfeso en el año 431.

El año que ahora termina ha sido un año difícil para todos. Y sin embargo, la providencia y misericordia de Dios nos han acompañado aún en medio de las dificultades. Pero un nuevo año es un comienzo fresco, una gran oportunidad de mejorar y convertirnos en la mejor versión de nosotros mismos en todo sentido, sin importar las dificultades que enfrentemos.

El Santo Padre ha dedicado este año a San José para conmemorar los 150 años de su proclamación como Patrono de la Iglesia Católica. Encomendemos nuestras familias al especial cuidado del dichoso custodio del Señor y pidamos que él y la Santa Madre de Dios nos protejan siempre y nos libren de todo peligro. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Al comenzar este 2021, oremos porque tengamos paz en nuestros corazones, en nuestras familias, en nuestros países y en todo el mundo. ¡Que Jesús, Rey de paz, traiga paz a todas las naciones! ¡Bendiciones para 2021! ¡Dios les bendiga!
