Prayer to St. Anthony
Gentle Servant of God St. Anthony, Help me find ways to honor God's blessings by showing my love for all of
God's creatures. Share your strength that I may cope with the trials and troubles of daily life. You, through
whose voice the Word of God was preached, intercede
for my need (mention your special request here). Pow-erful Patron, be with me always and teach me to reach
out in love and support to others. AMEN.
Scripture Corner
Tell the rich in the present age not to be proud and not
to rely on so uncertain a thing as wealth but rather on God, who richly provides us with all things for our en-
joyment. Tell them to do good, to be rich in good
works, to be generous, ready to share, thus accumulat-ing as treasure a good foundation for the future, so as
to win the life that is true life. —1 Timothy 6:17-19

grief or loneliness providing teaching, comfort, consola-
tion, and fellowship.
Diocesan Corpus Christi Procession
On Sunday, June 18, Bishop Jenky invites you to the Motherhouse of the East Peoria Franciscans (OSF Hospi-
tal sisters) for devotions and Eucharistic procession. Adoration will begin in the motherhouse chapel at
10:30am and the devotions will begin at 2pm and will
last about an hour. The Bishop has asked that special prayers be offered for an increase in vocations to the the
priesthood and consecrated life in our diocese. Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged. Young people who
made their First Holy Communion this spring are invited to dress in their special "finery" for the procession. The
sisters will provide refreshments after the devotions.
All Servers Invited!
All altar servers of the diocese are invited to the June 18 Corpus Christi Procession at the Motherhouse of the East
Peoria Franciscans. The procession begins at 2pm and will last about an hour. Servers are asked to bring their
own vestments and to arrive by 1:30.
Prayer Corner
Father in Heaven, we thank You today for Your blessings that you bestow upon us all. Father, I pray for our par-
ish today. Lord, may we all give with gladness and sin-cerity. No one ever gives a present to someone with
reluctance so help me never to give You what already
belongs to You with reluctance. Help me to realize that all I have is a gift from You. Bless my offerings so they
may be used to further your mission here on earth. We ask this through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen!
Summer Project
New cement will be poured for the sidewalks and entrances in front of school and church. Current funds
allow the asphalt in the alley way behind church and a
partial section of the parking lot to be removed and replaced with cement. This is partially doable through
Estate Donations, and the Annual Dueling Piano Fund-raiser. Donations are welcomed towards the
project. We hope to be able to complete the parking
lot in future years. Any questions contact the church office at 815-538-6151.

My Dear Friends,
I want to personally thank you for your thoughtful and generous response to this year’s Annual Diocesan Appeal.
I am very grateful to be the shepherd of such a wonder-ful parish. Your response gives me confidence that we
will continue to journey in faith and grow in our under-standing of what it means to be a disciple of Christ.
Your gifts help to reflect Christ’s love to many people and are a sign of gratitude for your many blessings. Count-
less lives in our parish, our community and throughout the 26 counties in the Diocese of Peoria are touched by
the ministries and programs supported by the Annual Di-
ocesan Appeal.
Our goal from the Diocese is $46,072.00. To date, we have received pledge cards from 188 families who have
pledged $38,817.50 and paid $33,327.00.
As can be seen from the paragraph above, we have not
reached our goal. If we don’t reach our goal, the balance owed will be taken out of parish funds. For those who
have not pledged there are pledge cards available in the
vestibule. Remember all funds received over our goal are returned to our parish.
May the Lord bless you and your family abundantly.
In Christ,
Father Peter Pilon
Joe Arteaga
Children’s Bulletins:
Children’s bulletins are available in the vestibule each
weekend next to the adult bulletins. Please have your little one pick up a bulletin.
Prayer to Saint Anthony of Padua
Glorious St. Anthony of Padua, you renounced every earthly ambition when yet very young. You gave yourself
wholly and perpetually to God’s service. Hence, I beg of you to secure for me the means to respond readily to
God’s purpose for me. Grant me the favor I now seek if it
is God’s will. Please do not forget the prayers and merits of our Franciscan missionaries, and the many needs of
their people. Pray the Our Father
