Exciting, fun and educational activities await you on a Chrysalis holiday.

Our programme aims to cater for everyone, whatever you want from your trip away: adventure or relaxation, the beach, music, wildlife, a theme park, or the theatre, we have it all. Priding ourselves on providing life-enhancing experiences at the most affordable prices, we have, for over twenty five years, been creating active, not passive holidays; developing skills, exploring interests and building friendships.

We provide the complete holiday package: assessment, transport, full board accommodation and a full, all inclusive itinerary of daytime & evening activities with our friendly staff on site 24hrs a day. Have a look through the brochure, see what you fancy, and we hope to hear from you soon!

If you are new to Chrysalis we will visit you at home prior to your holiday. This enables us to introduce ourselves, explain the holiday programme, complete risk assessments and discuss any personal requirements.

Home visits were a pioneering part of our service and are still offered at no extra charge within a 50 mile radius of our office. We will need a contribution to home visit costs outside this area.

If distance makes a home visit impractical, you will be asked to provide us with a full personal profile, detailing abilities, needs, and the level of care required, and we will complete our assessment remotely. We reserve the right to insist on a home visit if we deem it necessary.

All holidays are led by experienced managers, and the activities by qualified professionals wherever appropriate.

Also responsible for your wellbeing is a member of care staff individually assigned to support you during activities and provide any care assistance you might need.

Our team of care staff are all trained, DBS/CRB checked and on hand to assist with any eventuality. We offer physical and emotional support through a maximum of 3-to-1 (guest-to-staff) customer care. We also offer 1-to-1 and 1-to-2 support for those with more complex needs.

Our mission is to enable people, regardless of ability, to have access to, and participate in leisure opportunities. We strive to provide a supportive, instructive and encouraging holiday, including personal development, and simply good memories.

Our preparation behind the scenes is totally comprehensive. We complete thorough risk assessments for all customers, activities, and locations. We are one of the few holiday providers to be regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

We have a full programme running throughout the year (except Christmas and New Year), all around the UK, in Europe and the US.

The size of holiday group varies, from the more bespoke ‘Choice’ Holidays (4/5 people) right up to our main themed breaks which accommodate 12 guests.

We can also provide individual holidays, where you can pick the destination, theme and activities. This service is subject to staff availability and is quoted for on request.

Free onward transport is provided from any of the following meeting points:

What’s On Offer?

If you would prefer a door-to-door service from home - a return pick-up & drop-off is charged at £45 per person within a 20 mile radius from the Chrysalis office in Warrington.

Outside this area, pick-up prices are calculated at 55p per mile from the office (remember it is two return journeys for our driver). If an escort or second driver is required, the cost will increase accordingly.

If you would like a quote for a long distance pick up please contact the office.

Discounts are available to customers travelling from the same address for the same holiday.

Other Information

All prices are based on shared room occupancy (usually twin). Single rooms are often available but are charged at a supplement of £25 per night.

Customers are welcome to bring their own staff if they wish. We charge 40% of the standard holiday price to cover expenses and loss of saleable customer place. We will still run the holiday at normal Chrysalis staffing levels.

Care Package & Prices

We will assess which care package you require at your home visit and review this after each holiday you may take with us. Our most common care packages are ‘3:1’, ‘1:1’ or ‘Advanced Care’ (see ‘Quick Guide’). Due to the full range of activities that take place during our holidays we sometimes require you to be supported on a higher ratio of staff care than you receive at home.

The price is listed alongside each holiday description on the following pages. All of our prices are inclusive of full board accommodation, outings, activities, home visit, transportation (from the pick up points listed below) and all necessary care.

If you require our 1-to-1 level of care, the cost can be found next to the standard price on the following pages. Support at a 1-to-2 (guest-to-staff) ratio is available and quoted for on request.

We are happy to provide a waking watch if required. This will also be quoted for on request.

3:1 = The majority of our guests. Usually fully mobile and needing just limited help with personal care. 1:1 = For those who need more assistance with their personal care. Most of our customers who use a wheelchair or walking aid are also in this category. We usually fly from airports in the north west and travel to France, Ireland & Holland by minibus & Channel

Tunnel/ferry.

Chrysalis does not offer travel insurance. You must take out your own comprehensive insurance. Most abroad

destinations are within the EU and therefore covered by the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card).

As with our UK holidays, we will make every effort to fulfil the scheduled programme but Chrysalis reserves the right to change dates, alter prices and cancel holidays if necessary. In such circumstances you will have the right to a full refund.

WHAT TO PAY

DEPOSITS: A non-refundable deposit of £50 is required to secure any U.K. holiday place (£200 for holidays abroad). Please pay / send this at time of booking. For new customers no payment is required until after the home visit assessment.

FINAL BALANCE: The final balance, which you will be invoiced for upon receipt of deposit, can be paid at any time but at least 4 weeks before the start of each U.K. Holiday (8 weeks for abroad holidays). Bookings made within this period must be paid in full at time of booking.

CANCELLATIONS UK Holidays: If you cancel the booking your £50 deposit will be forfeited. If this happens more than 4 weeks from travel you will receive a full refund less the deposit. If you cancel within 4 weeks of travel you are not entitled to any refund. It is recommended, but not essential, that you purchase holiday insurance to cover this and other eventualities.

Abroad Holidays: If you cancel the booking your £200 deposit will be forfeited. If this happens more than 8 weeks from travel you will receive a full refund less the deposit. If you cancel within 8 weeks of travel you are not entitled to any refund. It is essential that you purchase holiday insurance to cover this and other eventualities. If changes in medical circumstances make participating in a holiday untenable, this constitutes you cancelling the booking. If for any reason we cancel the booking you will be refunded in full, including deposit.

HOLIDAY CHANGES We will make every effort to fulfil the scheduled programme but reserve all rights to change dates & itinerary, alter prices and cancel holidays if necessary. In such circumstances you will have the right to a full refund, including deposit.

INSURANCE Chrysalis Holidays has a comprehensive public liability indemnity policy but does not provide individual holiday cover. We recommend that you obtain your own personal accident, ‘all risk’ & cancellation cover for UK holidays. Most overseas destinations are within the EU and therefore covered by the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) so please bring yours. Additionally you must take out your own comprehensive insurance for any holiday abroad and provide Chrysalis Holidays with the details before travel.

LOST PROPERTY Every effort is made to ensure the safe return of all items but Chrysalis Holidays takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to customer property.

MEDICATION Chrysalis staff can only administer prescribed medications that are in their original packaging with clearly legible labels. All customers must adhere to Chrysalis’ medication policy which will be detailed in your holiday information sheet.

HOLIDAY TERMINATION Chrysalis Holidays reserves the rights to terminate a customer’s holiday for behavioural or medical reasons. If this event occurs it is your responsibility to arrange transport home from the holiday venue and organise relevant care at home. Otherwise you will be billed in full for transport and staff costs incurred. It is strongly advised you take out insurance to cover this eventuality.

PHOTOGRAPHS Photos taken during the holiday are sometimes used on the Chrysalis website, social media and brochure. Please inform the office if you do not wish for your image to be used in this way.
