St. Valentine's Day, or simply Valentine's Day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Galerius I in 496 AD. Modern traditional celebration of love and romance, including the exchange of cards, candy, flowers, and other gifts.

-Green, the color most

associated with Ireland, is a

huge part of St. Patricks’ Day.

One popular American

tradition is a pinch anybody

who fails to wear green on this

holiday.

-rivers and fountains are dyed

green temporarily to celebrate

this special day for Irish –

Americans.

-There are various symbols associated

with Halloween. These include the

spooks, ghosts and walking skeletons that

represent the contact between the

spiritual and physical world and between

the living and the dead.

connected with this holiday. These

animals are associated with the night and

darkness and often accompany witches

and wizards.

A day that people commonly play tricks or

jokes on family, friends, and co-workers.

Mother’s Day is, a celebration of everything to do with mothers. It is common for people to buy expensive gifts for their mothers or, at the very least, to send them a card showing their appreciation.

-Father’s Day is all about showing fathers appreciation for what they do, for acknowledging the role of fathers in children’s lives.

-Father’s Day gifts tend to be, not surprisingly, manly in nature. It is common for people to buy their dads power tools, neckties, sporting equipment, and so forth to show appreciation.

- It is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the

United States, often regarded as the beginning of the

Christmas shopping season.

- Some people use this to make trips to see family

members or friends who live in other areas or to go on

vacation. Others use it to start shopping for the Christmas

season.
