HOLIDAYS AND FEAST DAYS
• EASTER is celebrated in Spring as Jesus´crucifixion and the Resurection. Eggs are traditionally dyed and decorated. In Britain and the U.S.A. children look for hidden chocolate eggs.
• SAINT VALENTINES DAY is celebrated on 14th February. It is lovers´day. People send Valentine cards and buy little presents each other.
CHRISTMAS
• CHRISTMAS EVE - 24th December – we have fried carp and potato salad for Christmas dinner. People open their gifts under the decorated Christmas tree.
• CHRISTMAS DAY -25th December- children in the UK and the US unwrap their presents in the morning. Families gather for festive Christmas dinner.
NEW YEAR´S EVE
• People stay up till midnight to drink a toast to welcome the beginning of the New Year. This event is usually accompanied with parties and fireworks.
