Ecommerce Sales

According to Digital Commerce 360 $119.99 billion will be spent with online retailers for the 2018 holiday shopping season between November 1 – December 31.

With retail spending habits increasing across all online platforms it will be important for retailers to streamline their customers shopping experiences. Many traditional big box retailers such as Walmart are offering drive up delivery for online orders.

“Local retailers can better compete with larger online platforms such asAmazon and tap into a percentage of the projected ecommerce sales by taking the initiative to list their best products for purchase online via their own company websites while also utilizing other sales platforms and social media for additional exposure”

While daily needs shopping centers such as small strip centers may not necessarily see a huge surge in sales from gift giving in the form of clothing, home décor and large electronics, they can bolster sales by running specials for:

• Food Catering• Beauty Treatments • Gift cards• Liquor • Toys• Accessories

For example, during football season restaurants like Pizza Hut run party catering specials with the use of commercials, radio ads and pop-ups to capitalize of the association of sports with finger foods. Suggestive selling and offers that can be redeemed throughout the year in a neighborhood center can sometimes be too hard for regular patrons to resist.

Sites that small shop retailers can use to market these types of promotions include but are not limited to:

1. Groupon2. Grubhub3. Yelp4. Koopo Online5. Instagram6. Facebook Groups

What Do We Propose?

It’s not a new idea, but an important one.

Nations have never been great because they were made up of just one type of people, but rather because of the contributions of many across time, space and ethnicity. We are all a group of doers, dreamers, thinkers and innovators with ties that span across continents and time. Regardless of what is going on in the global marketplace, it is important that we ensure the livelihood of all people by diversifying and supporting our local marketplace. Our duties as people transcend politics, country and the decisions of our ancestors.

Today we have the opportunity to be greater. Today we have the chance to make sure that on a very basic level, every man woman and child has the ability to eat, drink and see good for their hard work. We look not to riches or military force, but to each other to provide what we need.

Support local businesses, entrepreneurship and help provide much needed balance to mitigate our fragile economies.
