Holiday Service RemindersThere will be no service on Christmas or New Year’s Day.

Holiday Leftovers Belong in Your Organics Cart or BinWhen your holiday party is over or your kitchen is closed, put these items in your Organics cart or bin:-Meat & Bones-Fruit & Vegetables-Breads & Desserts-Coffee Grounds & Filters-Paper Napkins, Plates & Cups

Pumpkins, poinsettias, pinecones, garlands and wreaths also belong in the Organics cart or bin. Be sure they are free of any paint, glue, plastic or metal.

Collection Benefits Animal ShelterIn honor of America Recycles Day, ACI hosts an annual special collection to benefit a local organization and keep useful materials out of the landfill. Last month, we were happy to collect clean, used towels for local shelter animals. Many thanks to all those who donated and to the City of Alameda and West Advertising for being collection sites.

Missed the collection? You can support local shelter animals year-round by volunteering with or donating to the Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter. Visit www.AlamedaAnimalShelter.org for more information.

Service RemindersRFlatten/and or cut boxes to maximize space in your Recyclables cart or bin. Don’t forget that junk mail, newspapers, catalogs, magazines, office paper, glass bottles & jars, aluminum & metal cans, and plastic containers labeled also belong in the Recyclables cart or bin.

RPlace recyclables directly into the Recyclables cart or bin. Do not use plastic liner bags. To recycle shredded paper, contain shreds in a paper bag or box to prevent pieces from blowing away during collection.

RKeep your collection cart or bin lids closed. Do not overload. Contact us if you need additional service.

RFoodservice businesses in the City of Alameda are prohibited from using Styrofoam® takeout containers. Choose reusable, recyclable or compostable alternatives whenever possible.
