Intrepid Readers Book Discussion Thursday, Dec. 6

For two thousand years, cadavers--some willingly, some unwit-tingly--have been involved in science's boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. A serious science writer with a quirky sense of humor, Roach visits the good deeds of cadavers over the centuries.

Watch CHRISTMAS VACATION with Chevy Chase and enjoy holiday refreshments. Br ing a wrapped, unmarked gift for male or female and we will exchange after the movie. Pre-registration by Dec. 14 and FREE ticket re-quired. Please inquire at the front desk of the library.

Christmas Classic Movie

Thursday, Dec. 13

It Happened on 5th Avenue (1947). Each winter a homeless guy moves into a New York man-sion while the owner basks in Florida, inviting his buddies in off the street. This Christmas, the daughter of the house shows up unexpectedly after a fight with her boyfriend. The plot thick-ens when her father disguises himself as a hobo so he can move back in. It's all about rediscov-ering family and the joy of being together. Don DeFore, Ann Harding, Charlie Ruggles, Victor Moore, Gale Storm. Free tickets; reservation required.

What is sexual abuse? Who is affected? How can you help? How can you get help? Sexual assault does not happen only to women. Join us for this first in a monthly series of five pro-grams on sexual abuse. This is a safe place. Licensed professionals will be on hand for your comfort and security. This program will be held in the Flewharty-Powell Annex (211 East Street).
