prayer on Monday, December 9 in the
Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The feast of
The Immaculate Conception falls on Sunday this year
so The Hour of Grace will be held on Monday. We
will begin at 12 noon sharp. Our Lady requested this
time and date when she appeared as the Mystical Rose
in 1947 to Sister Pierina of Montichiari, Italy. Many
spiritual and physical blessings will be received by
those who pray undisturbed during this hour. The
hour consists of the rosary, 51st Psalm, prayers and
private meditation. For more info please call Helen
at 253-2565 or Phyllis at 426-9954.

ST. HELEN CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
BAKE SALE
We are looking for homemade cookies,
breads, brownies, cupcakes, and other sweet treats to
sell at the baked goods table on Saturday, December
7th. Single-layer decorated cakes, fudge, and Rice
Krispie treats are always popular as well. We’d love
to have a batch or two of whatever your specialty
is. If you have an 8th grader looking for confirma-
tion service hours, they can bake and donate as
well. All items should be well wrapped and labeled.
Donations need to be dropped off in the breezeway
outside the St. Helen School office during the
school day or in the gym between 6-7:30pm on
Friday, December 6th. Please be sure to clearly label
the items to make selection easier for our shoppers.
Please support St. Helen School PTO by bak-
ing/donating to this event. It can’t be a success with-
out your help! If you have questions contact Latasha
Blake-Hubbard at [email protected].
INFANT JESUS SHOWER All children have been matched and the com-
mittee is working hard to contact everyone that has
volunteered to purchase a new toy and/or clothing for
a local child in need. In order to ensure each child has
packages to open for Christmas please return commit-
tee member phone calls or emails. If you have mis-
placed your Infant Jesus Shower information please
contact Amy at 937-231-9226 or email Becca
Please remember all gifts must be turned in
by the 10:30 mass on December 15th. If you do not
attend the 10:30 mass you are welcome to bring your
gift and place it on the altar at any mass that weekend.
FAIR TRADE Stop by and see all of the delicious
Fair Trade items for sale during Do-
nut Sunday in the Smith Building next Sunday.
This year we will only be selling items at Do-
nut Sunday--we will NOT be at the Christmas Bazaar
on December 7th. Hope to see you December
8th!
DONUT SUNDAY After both Masses, next Sunday,
in the Smith Building!
DURING THIS SEASON OF ADVENT
May we all remember
and challenge ourselves not to forget
that God is the creator
and owner
of all things.
Everything we have is a gift from God!
Everything!
May we be grateful for our gifts.
May we nurture our gifts.
May we share our gifts with others.
May we give back to God with increase
as we seek the Kingdom of God!

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
**AUDITIONS FOR THE ROLE OF YOUNG TI MOUNE/LITTLE GIRL IN THE UPCOMING ALTER
CASTLE PLAYERS PRODUCTION OF ONCE ON THIS ISLAND***
WHAT: Auditions for ONCE ON THIS ISLAND at Alter High School
WHO: We are looking for little girls ages 7-12 under 5 foot.
WHAT TO PREPARE: Please prepare a minute-long musical theatre song selection of your choice and bring the correct
sheet music for the accompanist.
You will not be able to sing A cappella.
WHERE: Auditions will be held at Alter High School’s Conservatory of the Arts Building on Friday, December 13th at
3:00 in the Suttman Theatre.
HOW: Sign Up to audition at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F084BACA922A2F85-auditions
WHEN: The production dates are March 20,21,22,27,28,29 (rehearsals will start in January)
INFORMATION ABOUT THE SHOW: Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of the is-
land, Daniel, with whom she falls in love. Unbeknownst to Ti Moune, the pompous gods who preside over the island make
a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death, the stakes being Ti Moune’s life. When she pursues Daniel,
who has returned to his people, Ti Moune is shunned because of her lowly status. Her determination and capacity to love,
though, is not enough to win Daniel’s heart, and Ti Moune pays the ultimate price; but the gods turn Ti Moune into a tree
that grows so strong and so tall, it breaks the wall that separates the societies and ultimately unites them. Questions or con-
cerns email Megan Sears @ [email protected]
