La extensión Central Mesa del tren ligero proveerá servicio a vecindarios, al distrito comercial del centro de la ciudad, instituciones educativas, al centro de arte Mesa Arts Center, al Edificio Municipal y a numerosos eventos especiales que se llevan a cabo en el corredor. También conectará mejor a las amenidades en el área central de Mesa con aquellas en Tempe y Phoenix, dando a los pasajeros mayor conectividad y oportunidades. La extensión atraerá a nuevos pasajeros debido a la demanda de transporte en el este del Valle, resultando en mejores oportunidades de desarrollo económico.
