Dear all students, parents, teachers & partners all over the world

Welcome to join Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad 2018 Final

Round. For the first year, we have over 1200 participants to join the final round. This

is a wonderful result for all of us to be interested in HKIMO for the first year. We

have Team from Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Iran, Indonesia, Philippines, Kyrgyzstan,

Ukraine, Malaysia, Myanmar & Thailand. Team Thailand broke the

MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD HISTORY. They sent a large team of 311

participants to join HKIMO Final Round.

For this year, the performance of HKIMO 2018 Final is extremely excellent.

HKIMO provides trophies for Champion, 1st Runner-up & 2

nd Runner-up for each

grade. In addition, HKIMO offers the highest scorer(s) from each region to be

WORLD STAR who will be given a FREE ticket for Free & Easy package for the

next year too.

of Hong Kong to participate into HKIMO 2018 Final.

Background

Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad, HKIMO is organized by Olympiad

Champion Education Centre from Hong Kong, a registered educational centre listed on Education

Bureau of Hong Kong (EDB Reg No: 598 216) to provide Mathematical Olympiad classes in Hong

Kong.

Mr Andy Lam, the director of OCEC and the founder of HKIMO, who was a former IMO

winner, got 2 A grades in HKCEE and 2 A grades in HKALE. He had 18-year Mathematical

Olympiad teaching experience. To stimulate and foster young people’s interest in learning

mathematics, to strengthen the ability of their creative thinking, to widen their international

perspective, and to promote the development of kindergarten, primary and secondary education and

exchange of educational cultures throughout countries, now he integrated a Hong Kong former IMO

winner team to organize HKIMO.

Last year, there were around 3000 participants for 10 countries / regions all over the world for

the heat round in May 2018. For the final round, HKIMO welcomed 1300 participants that broke

the Mathematical Olympiad record in Hong Kong to join such a large event. This year, HKIMO

committee members invited 21 regions / countries such as Indonesia, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Myanmar,

Thailand, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, India, Australia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Cambodia,

Vietnam, Singapore, China, Iran, Sri Lanka, Laos and Dhaka Bangladesh to participate.
