You can stand up for thecauses you believe in and you can doit for the generations to come. What awonderful way to leave your legacy.
Through the generosity of the manydonations received at SJH Foundationthis year, we helped South JerseyHealthcare to purchase a new 16-sliceComputed Tomography (CT) Scannerfor our Radiology Department andpurchase PACS (Picture ArchivingCommunication Systems) for ourphysicians at SJH Elmer Hospital. Thenew CT allows us to more effectivelydetect and treat a wide range of lifethreatening illnesses, including heartdisease, cancer, stroke and lungdisease. PACS, which digitizes images, allows physicians to view the imagesinstantly in the hospital or on acomputer in their own office. Theinstallation should be completed byAugust of this year.

PLANNED GIVING TIP
The Donation of Cash, Stocks and Bonds
Donations are excellent ways to support the mission of the SJH Foundationwhile helping to relieve some of your personal tax burden.
Cash: By donating a flat amount to the SJH Foundation, you qualify for adeduction on your taxes. But pledging your gift over a three to five year periodmay allow you to make a more substantial gift while affording you theopportunity to adjust the timing and amount of each payment to achieve themost beneficial tax benefit.
Stocks and Bonds: A gift of appreciated long-term securities is equal to the fairmarket value on the date the donor relinquishes control of the assets to the SJHFoundation. In this way, none of the appreciation is taxable for capital gainspurposes. It is important to note that you must transfer the stock, not sell it, inorder to achieve the most advantageous tax treatment.
