This section provides information on what you need to have in order to install the license.
(1) Hardware/software requirements for license key acquisition
The following table shows the hardware/software necessary to obtain a license to be
installed in the DCB Switch.

(2) Hardware/software requirements for 10G DCB switch connection
The following table shows the hardware/software necessary to connect to the 10G DCB Switch module where the license is to be installed and operate the switch by
its commands. A PC cannot be connected to DCB switch module directly in the default switch configuration. It has to be connected via the management port of the Management module. Please refer to the "Compute Blade 500 Series Getting
Started Guide" regarding handling an Embedded 10G DCB switch module and how to operate Management module.

Pre-setting
To operate a DCB switch module, it is necessary to access to the DCB switch
module via the management module. The IP address of management modules shipped from the factory is set as below.

Connect the LAN interface connector of the system console and MGMT0 port of the management module with a LAN cable. When two management modules are installed, connect the cable to the one with MSR LED lighting up green.

Common procedure
This section describe pre- or post-execute or common procedure for some license apply commands actually.
(1)Connect to the management module
First of all, connect to the management module by telnet and so on, and login
with a user ID and password with administrator (admin) privilege.
The user ID and the password of management modules shipped from the factory are set as below.

Connect to the 10G DCB switch module for the operation on 10G DCB switch
module with the procedure of each Compute Blade Server as followings.
The user ID and the password of 10G DCB switch modules shipped from the factory are set as below. Please use these information, if needed.

Note1: CB500 chassis supports Zero origin IOSW slot numbering. So you can input IOSW slot#0, 1, 2 or 3. On the other hands, CB2500 chassis supports
“One” origin IOSW slot numbering. So you can input IOSW slot #1, 2.
(3)Disconnect from the Compute Blade Server
After all work, disconnect from 10G DCB switch module and the management module.
The following shows the disconnect procedure for Compute Blade 2000.
Enter "exit" to exit from the 10G DCB switch module. Press Enter key after "Hit enter key" is displayed. And, enter "X" to exit from the CB2000
management module.

Check the status of the Compute Blade with at least one Embedded 10G DCB Switch module.
(1) Checking Compute Blade power status
Check the Power LED (PWR) to see the power status of the Compute Blade
■ Green: Indicates that the main power is turned on.
Go to the next step, (2) Checking server operation status.
■ Amber: Indicates that the system is in standby state.
Go to the next step, 2. Confirm 10G DCB switch's WWN.
■ Off: Indicates that the Compute Blade does not receive power.
First, connect the Compute Blade to AC power and close its circuit breaker to turn it into standby state. Then, go to the next step, 2. Confirm 10G DCB switch's WWN.

(2) Checking server operation status
Can all Compute Blade servers be stopped?
Yes

Is it acceptable that the communication of servers with embedded DCB switch which license installation target is stopped?

Stop all servers and go to
Section 2 (Confirm the DCB Switch's
WWN).
You can proceed license installation.
Go to Section 2 (Confirm the DCB Switch's

With this configuration, you need to stop all servers to proceed license installation. Wait until all servers can be stopped.
Have servers connected embedded DCB switch all stopped?

If the DCB Switch is operating while installing the license, the communication
lines of the Switch may be confused. This may result in loss of connection to servers or devices (such as servers and disks), which may cause system down.
If you install a license and download configuration information while servers are operating, be sure to follow the steps shown below.

Confirm the DCB Switch’s WWN
(1) Execute show license id command to get the WWN of the DCB Switch and
write down the value in the space for "Write down here" provided below.
Write down the WWN of the DCB Switch
where the license is to be installed.
Write down here.
The WWN of the DCB Switch is necessary to obtain the license.
Since each license only covers single DCB Switch (or WWN), if the wrong WWN is
used to obtain a license, the license may not be installed in the appropriate DCB
Switch.
Be sure to check that the WWN of the DCB Switch is correct.

This chapter describes how to create and configure a user account necessary to access the Web site for obtaining a license key.

It is not necessary to create any more account if you once created a user account.

(1) Set up the PC so that it has access to Internet. Open the Web browser and go to
the URL shown below. The Brocade Web site appears.
http://www.brocade.com
The contents of the Brocade Web site might be changed without any prior notice.
(2) On the Brocade Web site screen, click MyBrocade Log In.
(3) Click "register now" to start user registration. If you already have a user
account, it is not necessary to get any more account. You can login with the
account you got before.

(4) Enter the required fields and the E-mail address of user account holder. (A mail address serves as user ID.) Enter the E-mail address provided by company. Do
not use any personal E-mail address. After all the required fields are entered, click "CONTINUE". If there are any missing or an error in the fields, it won't go forward. Correct the field following the displayed messages in that case.

(8) The following mail is sent to the registered e-mail address. Access the URL described in the mail.
(9) Once you access the URL, "Welcome to MyBrocade" will appear. Click
"MyBrocade Log in" on the screen.

(12) Click on the check mark to add Licensing item, and then click "SUBMIT" button.
(13) This is the end of the procedure for user account creation and initial settings.

Obtain the License Key
(1) On the Brocade NOS License Generation screen, fill the fields listed below and
click Add.
Customer Information
Customer email ID: Enter the recipient where a confirmation e-mail is to
be sent
Site Name: Enter your site name
Technical Contact: Enter TEL
Company Name: Enter your company name
City: Enter your city name
State/Province: Enter your state/province name
Zip/Postal Code: Enter your zip/postal code
Country: Select your country
Phone Enter your phone number
Unit Information:
Unique ID Type Select LID
Unit’s Unique ID
Enter the WWN of the DCB Switch where a license is to be installed.
This is the WWN obtained in Section 3 "Confirm the DCB Switch's WWN" of Chapter 3.
Transaction Key
Enter your Transaction Key for the license.
This is the Transaction Key provided in the Software License Package which you purchased.

(2) When switch and license information you provided is displayed in the bottom of Unit Information, review the displayed information. If there is no error, select
the I have read and accept the Brocade End User License Agreement checkbox, and click Generate.
(3) On the screen such as below, the License Key is displayed. Write down the value of the "License Key" column in the blank area. You will receive the e-mail which
is written the License Key you obtained.
(4) Click Log Out in the Web site screen top and log out.

This chapter describes how to install the license in the Embedded 10G DCB Switch module.

Check Compute Blade Status
Chapter 3 shows the requirements to perform the procedure in this chapter. If the configuration, the status of the Compute Blade and DCB Switches meet the
requirements, go to Section 2 "Install the License."
Otherwise, follow the steps shown in Section 1 "Check the System Status" of Chapter 3 and activate the DCB Switch.
Install the License
(1) Access to the DCB switch module as per the procedure described in Common
procedure.
(2) Execute license add licstr command to install the license key.
The syntax of the command is as follows:
Compute Blade 2000 / Compute Blade 500 / Compute Blade 2500
(3) Confirm that the license is installed by show license command.
Obtain the license add licstr command and show license command log containing the DCB Switch configuration information, and save it in a safety
device such as a removable media.

1 A wrong WWN was used to obtain a
license key.
Contact your dealer where you purchased the license package.

An error message
appears on a browser screen used to obtain a license key.
Check the error message to see whether an
incorrect value is entered (especially for a transaction key).
3 Any LED on a DCB Switch turns on
orange.
Refer to the section concerning troubleshooting in "Network OS Administrator’s Guide" to fix the error. If the error persists, call your service
engineer.
