The first cell phone was created by Martin Cooper in 1973

The company that first sold them was Motorola

The first cell phone from Motorola was the DynaTec phone. It was $3,500

But did not sell well.

Martin Cooper

He got his degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1950 and his master's degree from the same institution in 1957.

Star Trek inspired him to create the mobile phone
