A history of Iron County, Missouri from its creation in 1857 to July 4th 1876. Created by an order of the Iron County Court:"Whereas on the 3d day of June 1876, the County Court of Iron County, Missouri made an order as follows: It is ordered by the Court that the Hon. J. W. Emerson and T. P. Russell be and are hereby appointed a committee to prepare a history of Iron County since its organization, in compliance with the Proclamation of the President of the United States, dated 25th of May, 1876 an that they be served with a copy of this order duly authenticated."
