Teacher’s Appreciation DinnerOn May 8th, Thursday night the Turkish Cultural Center of West Haven hosted a Teacher’s Appreciation Dinner. The event honored many educators from the surrounding schools. Mr. Omer Faruk Kizilcik, president of TCC West Haven Branch, delivered a speech on the importance of the event and the educators. During the night Teacher of the Year award was given to Bethany Sottosanti from Savin Rock Community School, West Haven.
The kids from the weekend school wrote letters nominating their teachers for the award. Based on Azra Demir’s letter Ms. Bethany Sottosanti was chosen. Azra read her letter to the guest before Mr. Omer Faruk Kizilcik presented the award. Ms. Sottosanti gave an acceptance speech and explained why she loves teaching. The event went on with guests enjoying Turkish Dinner and tea served. Guests got to take home souvenirs.

Well, Teacher Appreciation Week has come to a close.
