Hip Bar Private Limited is a digital payments company dedicated to serving the needs of the beverage alcohol industry and its consumers. It operates the HipBar wallet - a Reserve Bank of India authorised Pre-Paid Instrument (a.k.a. mobile wallet), that facilitates payments at a network of affiliated licensed liquor stores in Bengaluru. HipBar recently received authorisation to commence home delivery of alcoholic beverages from the Excise Department, Government of Karnataka for last mile delivery from licensed liquor stores for orders placed on the App. For Legal Permissible Age verification at the time of delivery, HipBar deploys Aadhaar-based biometric authentication as the preferred choice.HipBar is based out of Chennai, with offices in Bengaluru and Goa.

Where do you deliver?
Currently, we operate in the city of Bengaluru.
How will my order be delivered to me?
Your order will be delivered to your address by delivery agents affiliated with the
HipBar network.
Is there any minimum order amount required for home delivery?
Rs. 1000 in value.
Is there a maximum order limit?
Yes. There is a maximum limit per user, per order for different categories as has
been prescribed by the Excise Department. Mentioned below are the possession
limits for the state of Karnataka.

Beer 18.2 litres (Bira 91 etc)

What are your delivery hours?
We deliver from 10am to 10pm. We do not accept any orders before 9am and
after 9pm. All orders received between 9am and 9pm will be delivered the same
day, subject to availability of the delivery agents and the items ordered. It’s
recommended to place an order when you are in a position to receive the order at
the designated address within the next couple of hours.
Do you deliver to a public place?
Once you place an order, the order is routed to the nearest retail partner. Once the
stocks are confirmed, a delivery agent will pick up your order from the designated
partner store and deliver it to your residential address. We try to deliver within 2-3
hours of the order being placed.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once the order has been acknowledged by the store manager and picked up
by our delivery agent from the store, you can track the order from the store to your
location, on the app. You may also call the delivery agent when he is en route, but
it’s not advisable to do so.
Can an order be cancelled by HipBar?
Yes. A restocking fee will be levied, which will be 2x the delivery charge. HipBar
can cancel the order in case any of the following situations occur:
a) If the order has been placed to an address that is a public place
b) Underage recipient or no valid identity and age proof presented at
the time of delivery
c) Unruly behaviour by the customer
d) No show by the customer for upto 10 mins after intimation of arrival
Can I cancel the order after making it?
Yes. A restocking fee will be levied, which will amount to 2x the delivery charge.
The balance funds will be credited to your wallet account, after deducting the
re-stocking fee.

Yes, you have to be physically present at the residential address you’ve specified in
the order, to collect the products that you ordered. Age-verification is mandatory
and therefore the customer's physical presence is a must.
Why should I show my ID proof?
HipBar services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal
drinking age, which in Bengaluru is 21. Aadhaar is the default ID used for
biometric authentication of age. If it’s not available, other forms of valid original
government ID for age verification and identification is mandatory, to receive the
items which are strictly meant for a 21+ audience.
We take this business very seriously and have a great of deal of responsibility to
ensure that underage drinking is not propagated.
What ID proof do I need to show the delivery agent to collect my order?
You must provide any one of the following original ‘official’ ID documents for
verification purposes:

Can I return the products after receiving delivery and get a refund?
No. Returning or exchanging items delivered to your location is not possible under
most circumstances. Once you receive the order, you must check the items for
authenticity – cap seal and hologram, as soon as it arrives. If you find anything
suspect, you can report it to the customer care and return the items before the
Delivery Agent leaves your presence. HipBar does not take any responsibility for
items that are unreported once it is delivered and accepted.
How is the new version of the HipBar app different from the older version? What
features have been added/removed?
With the new HipBar app, you can choose to pick up your reserved product from
the retail store or have it delivered to your residential location. You can also use
the “Pay With Wallet” feature to pay for a product of your choice at HipBar
affiliated retail stores. The “Redemption at Bars” feature has been discontinued for
now and will be back soon as an improved offering.
Is there a delivery radius that’s applicable for home delivery services?
To avail home delivery services, your address must be serviceable within 3
kilometres of any HipBar affiliated retail store. The app will detect your location
and accept your order only if such a possibility exists.
HipBar services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal drinking age in their respective city/state. Home delivery/store pickup is possible only after appropriate age-verification procedures are completed.

HOW HIPBAR FOSTERSA RESPONSIBLE DRINKING REGIMENT
HipBar envisions building a responsible drinking community through a strict age verification process. Here’s how the delivery process works:
No ID, No Drink!HipBar’s services can only be availed by individuals who are above the legal drinking age. HipBar ensures that no delivery occurs without the evidence of a valid, government-authorised ID proof.
A HipBar customer is required to furnish an original of any of the following documents to the delivery agent to receive the product(s).
HipBar delivery agents are instructed to cancel the order and re-stock the items if the customer fails to produce a valid ID proof.
Vetted & Verified
Once the ID proof is furnished, the delivery agent will check the same. The default
proof of identity is the Aadhar Card, on production of which the customer will have
to verify his/her fingerprint on the delivery agent’s device to confirm his/her
identity.
For other documents, the delivery agent verifies the ID and records the last 4 digits
of the unique document number on his device before handing over the order(s).
If at any stage, there’s a discrepancy in the documents or a misrepresentation of
any kind, the order stands cancelled.
Delivered only at Residential Locations within shop timings
As per the rules of the Excise, delivery at a public place is strictly prohibited. Only
residential locations will be considered for delivery, that too only during officially
permitted working hours for licensed liquor shops.
