The Met department forecast overcast conditions along with the possibility of light rains and thundershowers on Thursday. “The skies will be partly cloudy. While allowing company Endeavour Systems and its director Sandeep Kumar’s plea to unfreeze the computer com- pany’s bank accounts, additional sessions judge AK Jain said, “The issue of giving favours did not arise” so far in the investi- gating agency’s probe into the alleged corruption. The court asked the company to furnish a bond of over `2 lakh along with security documents as a condition to its order. “CBI is conspicuously ambig- uous,” the court noted while adding that even as per the investigating agency’s case, the money allegedly taken as bribes to favour certain companies like Endeavour in a tender process had not been deposited into the accounts that had been frozen. “Consciously, CBI has not mentioned any amount consti- tuting loss to the government,” said the court. It added that the Delhi government made “huge savings” in awarding the con- tract to Endeavour. The court also noted that the company judiciously maintained records of said bank accounts. They had judiciously listed all the entries of debit and credit to it. It was moved by the com- pany’s submission that it needed the bank accounts to keep up with its business contracts and without them, the company wouldn’t be able to fulfil their business obligations and many jobs would be on the line. On December 15, last year, CBI had conducted a raid in the offices of Delhi government say- ing that they had registered a case against Kumar after a five- month-long probe. As per the agency’s allegations, between 2007 and 2014, the IAS official had favoured certain accused companies including Endeavour and others so they could get con- tracts worth nearly `9.5 crore. During the searches, the agency had seized several papers and also cash, it had claimed. After passing the order, the court also clarified that noth- ing said in the order was tanta- mount to a comment on merits of the agency’s continuing inves- tigation.
