Lord Muruga/Subramanya/Kartikeya The first Maha Kumbabishekam for our Arulmigu Pazamuthircholai Murgan took place in July 2004. The Geeranodharana Maha Kumbabishekam for Murugan will take place May 11 - 13, 2018 with the Great Blessings of the Almighty. Extensive preparations are underway for a grand celebration of this momentous spiritual event. The Maha Kumbabishekam will be performed by Priests from Palani Murugan Temple accompanied by Priests from the Hindu Temple of Greater Tulsa, Oklahoma and Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati. The three-day event will begin on Friday in the morning with Sri Maha Ganapathi and Sri Maha Laxmi Homams, followed by three elaborate Yagasalai Poojas and Homams in the evening on Friday, and in the morning and evening on Saturday. The celebrations will reach its climax on Sunday morning starting with the fourth Yagasalai Pooja and Homams, followed by the Maha Kumbabishekam to Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Sri Murugan. The event will conclude with Thirukkalyanam and Oorvalam. Live Nadhaswaram will adorn the festivities during the weekend. Cultural programs on Saturday and Sunday will feature devotional songs by prominent artists. Lunch and dinner will be served on May 11, 12 and 13.
