Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends,

Jai Shree Ram!

Wish you ALL a very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year. Hari Om Mandir Parivar will be welcoming the

New Year 2020 with Sunderkand Path. I encourage you all to join us on the very first day of the Year,

Wednesday morning, the 1st of Jan at 9.30am, and seek Blessings from Hanuman Ji for a blissful year ahead.

Our very own Priest, Acharya Ram Narayan Vajpayee will be reciting the “Path”. We shall ALL get together

and sing along the Holy Sunderkand Path on this special occasion. What better way to sing the glory of

Hanuman Ji and seek HIS Blessings for a healthy & Prosperous New Year!!! Snacks & Tea will be served from

9.30 to 10.30 am before the start of the Program and conclude with a lavish Lunch at 1pm. I cordially invite

YOU ALL to join us and welcome the New Year 2020 with a bang!!!

Year 2019 has been a very eventful year in the history of HOM. We launched two major Projects this year:

Baba Balak Nath Murti Sthapna and installation of the Elevator. In Feb.2019, Baba Ji’s Murti was installed with

great devotion and all the pious rituals were performed for the Sthapna. I am pleased to share the growing

popularity of this Program…an ardent devotee dropped off a Gold Chain in Baba ji’s feet as “Gupt Daan”.

The Elevator Project, is indeed a big giant project on hand…lot of construction work, inconvenience caused

during bad weather, delays caused due to County Approvals/Permits etc have been involved with this

Milestone project. I am so proud of all you Devotees who have contributed with open hearts to

accomplish this major project, and am humbled to share that we received a check of “$ 5900/- Gupt

Daan” for the project. The work is in progress, and hopefully, with the Grace of God, we shall be ready by the

Summer of 2020.

Two new Priests joined our Hari Om Parivar and I would like to congratulate them for doing an excellent job in

connecting with the community, besides establishing a rapport with the Devotees visiting the Mandir on a daily

basis. They have introduced 2 new Programs in the temple: Shastri Dharmendra Bhatt has started the

Samuhik Satya Narayan Katha, which will be held once every month, around Puran Mashi. I would encourage

you all to join in!

Acharya Ram Naresh Vajpayee organized the “Sita-Ram Vivah” for the first time in the Mandir. On Dec. 15th

we had a grand celebration when a young couple, portrayed as Ram & Sita performed all the Vivah

ceremonies and rituals, and took the marriage vows once again on this festive occasion. Several Sponsor

Families joined to become part of the Ram Parivar (as the Groom’s Parents) and Sita Parivar (as the Bride’s

Parents). It was an honor and a golden opportunity to do Kanya Daan and shower Blessings on this auspicious

occasion.

On a sad note, I am deeply grieved to have lost a couple of our stalwarts this year. Mr Satpal Salwan, Mr Ravi

Kalia, Mr Mahendra Thakkar who left for their Heavenly Abode, were strong pillars of the HOM and an asset to

the Society at large. Their contributions can never be forgotten and their guidance will always be missed. May

the Departed souls rest in Peace!!!

Last but not the least, I would like to express my gratitude to each and every Member of the EB and the BOT,

without whom I could not have taken a step forward…Thanks for all the hard work, Co-operation and Trust.

Please keep your spirits high & TOGETER, we shall make our HOM grow and attain new heights in 2020.

Chairman’s New Year Message

On behalf of Board of Trustee, I wish you All a very happy and prosperous New Year. I also pray to Lord

Krishna to bless you with health, wealth and prosperity. May Mata Vaishno Devi bestow Happiness and Peace

in every household?

This is a time for us to reflect on our many blessings of the past year and to give thanks. I like to say how

much proud we are of successful 2019 year. All the religious events at Hari Om Mandir were attended by the

large number of devotees. Credit of all the success goes to leadership of Vipan Wadhera, President and

guidance of Ayodhia Salwan, Guardian.

We also had sad news as well of sudden death of Mr. Ravi Kalia, Mahendra Thakkar and Sat Pal Salwan. All

the three were noble souls and well- wisher of the Hindu Society. Mr. Ravi Kalia and Mr. Sat Pal Salwan left a

great legacy and will be remembered for long time. Mr. Sat Pal Salwan’s contribution towards Mandir’s

expansion all thru his association with Mandir and his dream project of Elevator for Senior Citizens will always

be remembered, and go down in the History of the Mandir, as a great achievement.

I like to thank all the outgoing EB and BOT members for their contribution to the Hindu Society of Metropolitan

Chicago. I also would like to welcome the new members on the EB and BOT. Their contributions will be

cherished for a long time.

Much of the credit of success of Hari Om Mandir goes to the dedicated volunteers. I thank all of you for every-

thing you do through volunteerism and philanthropy. Please accept our whole-hearted appreciation for your

incredible support and I look forward to continued development of our beloved temple in the years to come.

I hope, I shall fulfill the responsibilities of Chairman BOT, as well as Mr., Sat Pal Salwan, who has left a great

void in the Society. Those are big shoes to fill, but with your support and good wishes, I shall try to serve the

Mandir as best as I can.
