March 2012
THANK YOU
Thank you to Carlo and Cathy from IGA for their continuing generous support of Hillvue Public School. Cathy presented the school with a very generous cheque on Monday. Please remember to drop you dockets at Carlos IGA Supermarket in the Hillvue box WELCOME Mrs Hailey Walmsley who is doing a practicum with Mrs O’Connor / Mrs Porter and 3/4O for the next 4 weeks. PARENTS AND CITIZENS ASSOCIATION A P&C meeting will be held tonight at 6.30pm. Tea and coffee will be available. It would be great to see some new faces – you will be very welcome.
SCHOOL BANKING – Students
At Friday mornings assembly a representative of the Commonwealth Bank will speak to the children about School Banking.
This School Banking program teaches children good money management skills that will last well beyond school life. The program also offers financial benefits for your school. Your school will receive:
$5.00 for every Activated Account via the School Banking program i.e. for each student who banks through the school’s program for the very first time;
5% commission for each deposit (up to a maximum of $10 in commission per individual deposit);
Minimum commission payment of $25.00 per quarter (provided at least one deposit is received from the school per quarter).
The Rewards Program The School Banking program includes an exciting Rewards Program designed to promote regular savings behavior. Every time a child makes a deposit into their savings account at school regardless of the amount deposited, they receive a Dollarmites token. These tokens can then be redeemed for exclusive Dollarmites reward items. The more tokens the child saves, the more reward items they can redeem during the year. All students will receive information. Mrs Eggins in the office will be our school banking co-ordinator. If you need assistance or have any enquires please contact Mrs Eggins. SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL 2013 Parents of children seeking placement at a selective high school Year 7 2013 should have received advice re the Test and Test centres for Wednesday 15th March. Please contact myself or Mrs Chambers if your child is due to sit the test and you haven’t received advice.
