A s we zip through the first half of the term, it is my fervent hope that all stakeholders

have settled in pretty well to the various expectations. By now the learners are well

acquainted with their teachers and systems.

To the teaching staff, the challenge of encouraging the “new” class to settle in for more

challenging work in the new grade, being compounded by the challenge of knowing the

learners and turning them to latest content for the grade is now history. For the parents,

the anxiety, excitement of meeting the new teacher of the child and how he/she settles in

the class, is now over.

Having started the term on solid ground, we sincerely thank our parents and friends of

Hillcrest for making this possible. Your financial support, material donations, attendance

at school functions and voluntary contributions make Hillcrest School great. Please do not

hesitate to offer your services in areas you have a passion or talent.

You are reminded to take note of the upcoming events (page 2). Enjoy the Mid Term

break with your loved ones. It is “Back to School” on Tuesday morning, the 23rd of Feb-

ruary 2016 (4pm on Monday 22 February for boarders).

PREFECTS INVESTURE

After a gruelling selection process, the staff settled for 14 prefects and monitors. The investure

ceremony was graced by Mrs A Holman the College head who gave words of wisdom to the

prefects body about good leadership. Parents support was great and we hope that these young

leaders will live up to expectation.

ORANGE DAY

This was in aid of children with cancer. It was such a colorful event and $233 will be donated for this worthy cause.

KIDS CAN WALK Numerous Prep school pupils joined other students from the College and other schools around
