ION This 1889 Romanesque Revival style building was
designed by Denver architect Frank E. Edbrooke and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The red-orange façade featuring numerous arches and intricately carved detailing stands out as one of Denver’s few surviving examples of Manitou sandstone. A fire in 1984 destroyed the buiding’s interior. Innovative methods allowed for a modern steel and concrete structure to be built inside while preserving the historic façade.
