What is a 4-H Ambassador? A 4-H Ambassador is an official envoy, and authorized representative of the Missoula County and the Montana 4-H Program. 4-H Ambassadors are self-motivated, enthusiastic leaders who promote 4-H by example and serve to strengthen the 4-H Program through public relations and community service.

The opportunities are “LIMITLESS”!
To be eligible to apply for a spot on the 2018-2019 Ambassador Team, you must be 13 years old by October 1, 2017, and entering High School. Applications are due in the 4-H Office by May 15, 2018 – so don’t delay! Ambassador interviews will be held Wednesday, May 30th. Once we receive your application, you will be contacted to schedule an interview time. Ambassadors will be selected by a committee, based on their application and interview. ALL Applicants must Interview to be considered. If you have any questions, please contact the Extension Office at 258-4201, and they will get you contact numbers for the Ambassador Team. We look forward to working with those that are committed to making the Missoula County 4-H Ambassador Team the best it’s ever been!

Official rules and resources are available from the Extension Office
Demonstration: A presentation that shows how to complete a task – a hands-on, step-by-
step presentation which prepares the audience to complete a task. This is a "how to"
presentation.
Illustrated Talk: A communication which conveys information with the use of visual items
and illustrations.
Speech: A communication technique in which only the spoken word and gestures of the
presenter are used. No props or posters are used in 4-H public speaking contests.

We are in search of a 4-H Café co-manager to help Janelle throughout Fairweek. There is a small stipend. Please contact Campbell if you know anyonewho may be interested. [email protected]
There will be a meeting at 6pm on June 12th for Club Leaders regarding 4-HCafé and other expectations.We won’t have a Café building this year, but we will have will have a foodtrailer – so volunteers will be needed to work shifts. Fewer youth and adultsper shift will be required.

Shooting Sports UpdatesNEW! As of October 1, 2018 - All Missoula County 4-H shooting sports members;(1) Must be enrolled in a shooting sports discipline no later than May 1; (2)Complete a club or county sponsored safety class for their discipline and; (3)Shoot a minimum of three times with a certified instructor prior to shooting atany county, state or national competition. This includes the Missoula CountyExhibition Shoot.
The “Fair Shoot” will be July 23rd (set-up on July 22nd). County Shotguncompetition will be July 31st.
