    1. Scintillating ambience Nestled on the foothill of the world famous Chamundi

    Hills, SDMIMD boasts of one of the best B-School campuses in India. The lush green

    campus coupled with state-of-the-art academic and living blocks act as a natural

    trigger to initiate into the learning process. With separate residential blocks for boys

    and girls, SDMIMD is perhaps one of the very few in the country to offer single-room

    accommodation to all the selected candidates.

    most respected Indian companies, the placement process is completed with highdegree of satisfaction. For the year 2011-13, the Institute attracted 169 offers to a

    batch of 167 students, with a total 11 Lateral and PPOs (pre-placement offers) and a

    median salary of INR 5.42 lakh. Placement activity is going full-swing for 2012-14

    batch students, with the highest salary already having touched INR 15.50 lakh.

    4. Rigorous and Industry relevant PGDM curriculumSDMIMDs flagship PGDM

    program is known for its rigours and industrially relevant curriculum. The Institute

    incorporates changes in its PGDM curriculum every year in keeping with the

    changing business practices. Active inputs are solicited from members of theAdvisory Board comprising of highly successful Business Leaders and Academicians.

    5. Trusted support from the ParentAll the activities at SDMIMD are fully guided

    and supported by its parent organization SDMET (Shri Dharmasthala

    Manjunatheshwara Education Trust), part of the SDM group, which is known for its

    charitable and philanthropic activities. The SDM group also runs a word-famous

    Micro-finance initiative (with a repayment rate of 99.99%) under the SKDRDP (Shri

    Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project), which recently won the

    prestigious Ashden Award in 2012 for being adjudged as the Best Non-

    Governmental organization.

    6. Corporate visibilityThe Institute organizes series of activities like Foundation day

    lecture and Annual Leadership talk, where eminent and highly successful corporate

    luminaries are invited to share their experiences and thoughts on management with

    the students of SDMIMD. Mr. Harish Hande (SELCO India Pvt Ltd.) and Dr R A

    Mashlekar (Global Research Alliance) are some of the prominent people who

    addressed the students in the year 2013-14. The students had the benefit of the

    7. Collaboration with Foreign Universities As part of SDMIMDs endeavour to

    expose the students pursuing PGDM with best the business practices and learning

    environment abroad, the Institute has tied with three leading Foreign Universities

    Mays Business School (Texas A&M University, USA), Shanghai Business School

    (Shanghai University, China) and School of Business Management (British Universityin Dubai, UAE) for student exchange programs. Every year, a select number of

    students participate in the exchange programs spending part of their academic

    calendar with the Foreign University. 20 I year students chosen on the basis of merit

    will be sent to Dubai for a special orientation for a fortnight in March-April, 2014.

    8. Research Activities In order to survive in the cut-throat and highly competitive

    business environment, SDMIMD recognizes that the only way to stay ahead and

    relevant is by initiating active research activities. SDMRCMS (SDM Research Centre

    for Management Studies) every year organizes International Conferences in the areas

    of Finance & HR, which have received an admirable patronage from the academic

    and the corporate fraternity. For the year 2013-14, Mr. Koushik Chatterjee, CFO, Tata

    Steel inaugurated the International Finance Conference, and Mr. Nischae Suri, Partner

    People & Change Management, KPMG inaugurated the International HR

    Conference. The research cell also publishes volumes on Cases in Managementand

    Cotemporary Research i n M anagement, where the in-house faculty convert their

    consulting assignments and research projects into case studies and research papers

    respectively.

    Symposiums and Seminars Every year in the month of January, SDMIMDorganizes an International Symposium on a highly relevant managerial theme, which

    is attended by students and faculty of a leading Foreign University. The day-long

    program incorporates series of activities from lectures, panel discussions, and mind-

    games that are aimed towards sensitizing the B-School students towards best practices

    in the realm of International Business.

    10.AccreditationsSDMIMDs two-year residential PGDM program is accredited by

    NBA (National Board of Accreditation), AICTE, Govt. of India. SDMIMDs flagship

    2-year residential PGDM program has been rated with the coveted A**(A-double

    star) by CRISIL(leading rating agency), which bears testimony to the rigorous and

    academically relevant business program offered by the Institute.

    11.Thrust towards EntrepreneurshipIn an effort to encourage students interested in

    pursuing entrepreneurial ventures, SDMIMD launched the E-Cell initiative in 2013-

    14, where interested students are given plethora of opportunities in the form of

    training and interactions with corporate and venture capitalists to develop sound

    business ideas and convert them into successful corporate ventures.

    12.Corporate connectivity SDMIMD regularly conducts MDPs (Management

    Development Programs) and CSPs (Client Specific Programs), where corporate

    executives from the senior and middle-level management are imparted training across

    disciplines enabling them to stay relevant on the learning-curve and utilize theirlearnings towards promoting organizational growth. These programs are conducted

    every year between AprilJune.

    13.Workshops & FDPsSDMIMD as part of its mission to share the best teaching and

    research practices regularly conducts Workshops and FDPs for the benefit of

    researchers and faculty from other institutions. These programs have been highly

    successful, which is evident from the enviable enrolments that these programs receive

    every year.

    14.

    Societal Sensitivity With an objective to churn out industrially relevant and

    societally sensitive B-School graduates, the Institute requires all the students in their

    first year to compulsorily spend two-weeks with a NGO (Non-government

    Organization), as part of the SRP (Socially Relevant Project).

    15.Programs by NSE (National Stock Exchange) In order to strengthen their

    practical exposure, our Finance students have the opportunity to go through NSEs

    NCCMP (NSE Certified Capital Markets Professional Program). The Institute has

    collaborated with NSE for this.
