Natatorium Demolition/ Infill Summary
Opportunities - Disruption to campus during demolition and reconstruction - Additional classrooms may trigger the requirement for additional parking
Advantages - Space created for 22-24 classrooms and 2-3 labs - Academic space is provided in the current academic area - There is an opportunity to move the library into this space, addressing some of the previously identified renovation issues - There is an opportunity to expand the main corridor in the area of the work, helping to relieve some of the congestion for this circulation path - Spaces will be designed to new standards with adequate square footage
Proposed Partnership
• City and HPISD would enter into an Interlocal Agreement for funding and operations
• Possible May 2015 HPISD bond issue would provide non-recaptured tax dollars to fund construction
